14060M - The Definitive Basel Answer

Hey all,

Been chatting with my boss, who saw Rolex this morning, and he asked the question that's been on many people's lips: what is the fate of the ND Sub? Well, I have an answer for you all...

It lives! At least for another year, anyway. They could, possibly, launch an updated version next year, but let's worry about that in 12 months time. In the meantime, enjoy this old school Rolex whilst you can

All the best,

Chris

Looks like it will stay the entry level Submariner at approx $5.5K for a while, a good marketing/sales move by Rolex.

I'm glad the 14060 stays, although I wouldn't be opposed to seeing a 114060 :)

So now there's only one Rolex left in the catalogue worth paying for.

I'm glad to see it continue for at least a little while longer. I won't be buying it, but it's nice to know it is there.

I know my AD will be upset that they didn't update it. He says they can't sell the current model since most buyers are non wis types and think it looks/feels outdated.

sweet. Makes since that they didn't launch it this year due to the new EXPII being the headliner. Same reason the new EXPII got pushed back last year...didn't want to upstage the ceramic SS Sub...

After thinking about this, as it's not on the web site (and hasn't been for some time) but the key is it has been in the show case at Basel. This year it wasn't. As much as I think it's going to be for another year, I feel they will phase it out of production and limit the sales to what are made. As you know there are alot of BNIB out there sitting in ADs but once they are gone, I feel that's it. That will position Rolex to bring out a SUB-C No Date next year at Basel.

Turning the inventory and not stuck with old is the name of the game. I just feel, as I think about it, 14060m will be sold this year, but only sold what they have produced is my guess.

Remember, no one knows except God and Rolex.
