Storage and traveling cases for multiple watches
My hubby's watch collection is at four, and mine is 0 but I'm shopping..
Can you give me the name and pic of what you: 1) Store them in at home 2) Travel with them in BEFORE hubby got his DJ recently he filled our hotel or cruise ship safe with bulky watch boxes. Now I can't imagine how it will be. We need something more streamlined that keeps watches scratch free. And at home... any suggestions will be fun lo view! Cheers! Suzy |

You could buy Oakley watch vaults. They are two sizes and I use it to safeguard my Daytona when wearing other watch or transporting it when I'm not in the mood to wear a watch.

Hi Suzy
If you want a box that is virtually indestructible (dust proof/water proof/shock proof etc.) than I would recommend what I use. I use a Pelican 1200 for 9 watches, there is a new 1170 which is not as deep/thick as the 1200 with about the same area. Pelican have a series of cases with different dimension so you could pick the one to fit however many watches you foresee yourself to have or even 1 to 4 watches for travel and up to as many as 30 or more if you want. Its limitless. Pelican case have built in lug for you to put a padlock on. |

If you want to put them in a hotel/cruiseship safe go with the Oakley vaults because you barely get any space.

I really like my travelcase, its an Orbita Lugano. They have a couple of sizes, for 6 and 12. You can find them on the Orbita website.

Suzy,
Please realize that the boxes that the watches come in are somewhat valuable. Should you go on a cruise (as I assume that you often do) and buy watches, you will probably want to find a way to keep the boxes that the watches came in. When/if you ever want to trade/flip or sell a watch, the box will be very strongly desired. I just wasn't sure if you were referring to post-purchase to carry home or at home or travelling with them all. |

Hi. I got a few PMs on this topic and thought I'd report back for others.
I wanted to say that this case for TRAVELING, used by Dr Robert, seemed best for me: http://www.broadarrow.net/cases.htm You might want to check it out. watchf - OK, I found Pelican cases, but where do you find the foam inserts for watches? I don't need a foam insert in the shape of a semi-automatic pistol! :D This site reminds me of an action movie. Thanks to everyone for being so helpful! Suzy |

When it comes to air travel, or hotel stays, I travel with 1 watch. Usually a stainless datejust, which has the least sentimental value to me, and can be easily replaced if need be.

I have the 1120, 1150 and 1200. You can get Pelican cases (most model) at Amazon, make sure you buy one which says come with foam. Those with no foam is a few dollars cheaper so don't cheap out 1200 here http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_no...n+1200&x=0&y=0 1170 here http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_no...n+1170&x=0&y=0 Have a look at www.pelican.com for all sizes available. Have a browse through this thread as well, its full of posts from people who are using Pelican cases for their watches http://forums.watchuseek.com/f423/th...se-201907.html If you feel you want to pay more and have a customised box of similar design as the Pelican see http://customcasedesigns.com/index.p...280dd26b054daf Here are some pics of mine in different configuration. Notice the lug hole for locks? There are actually one at each side of the case so you can put two locks if you wish. |

Nice watch boxes..
However, the safes in hotels and on cruise ships are about the size of a two slice toaster and all of your valuables need to fit in them... This is the answer... Keep in mind while traveling (cruises especially) that you cannot hand-carry more than one Rolex without risking Customs seizure...
