Should I trade Explorer II for 16610 or 116610?
Guys
A few weeks ago you talked me into keeping my Rolex instead of selling for a Breitling Blackbird. Now I have a dilemma? I really love the SS Sub. Should I trade my EXP II for one of the last 16610's or splurge and trade for the 116610? I am really a one watch at a time kinda guy, but I have also thought about keeping the ExpII and trying to find a 10460 Sub ND on the forums. Especially since I am going to spend a few thousand to upgrade to the 116610. What are your thoughts. I'd like to hear from the Sub owners. |

I would definitely trade for either without hesitation, and between the two subs- definitely the new Sub C- the extra couple thousand is worth the upgraded case, dial, bracelet and clasp

Consider the 16610LV as well. Yes, get the SubC, it's a hell of a better watch then the ExpII.

I found the Exp II to be a more comfortable daily wear, YMMV
And with the 14060M, you have best of both world |

I would rather have the 16610 over the 16570 or the 116610.

If you like the style of the sub and the GMT function of the Exp II maybe consider a GMT II?

Really? "Hell of a better watch". I'd love to see you try and keep track of 2 time zones with a Sub! They are both GREAT watches with very different "tool" purposes. Personally I'm not a fan of the new super case, but that is just my opinion.

dollars wise, i wouldn't do it if i were you.
people are asking way too much for a 16610. maybe a year or so ago, the trade up would have been reasonable, but not right now. the fact is, for however much more you would pay, the sub is not that much better than an explorer2. you're better off waiting. |

Did you buy your Explorer II pre-owned or brand new from the AD? What I'm trying to say is, it's going to cost you some money... if you're going for the Sub C. I'd do it but definitely think about the finances of it. If you're taking a huge hit on the watch, I wouldn't.

I bought the watch pre-owned. It would be an even credit for what I paid for.

cherry i considered the same thing as you, but after trying on the sub and finding the very large crown uncomfortable, i kept my EII. make sure you try them on and keep them on your wrist for a bit. the crown on the sub is huge.

Absolutely, I replaced my SS Daytona and TT Blue Sub with the Sub C and I have zero regret over the decision. The new Sub is that good.

I parted with a couple of watches to get the funds for my Sub C, and I could not be happier.
If you are buying a Sub, it has to be the Sub C. In the big scheme of things, it's not much more money for a watch that has so many improvements, is so worth the money. The difference between the Sub C and the "old" sub was $1200 at my local AD, heck, the clasp alone is worth the difference and you get all the other upgrades as well.

i would keep your exp II and get a good deal on a 14060m. great value for the money on those. that is what i did. you will then have two very different tool watches. keep both for a bit , and then let one go if you have to do so.
