Gifting a decent Bourbon to co-workers - Suggestions
So as a gift to my coworkers for Christmas... I am thinking of getting each of them a Fifth ( 750ml.) bottle of something. I am thinking a nice bottle of bourbon ( My first thought was a bottle of Makers Mark, but is that too average? ) .
I would like to keep it under about $75.00 each... I have about 5 bottles to buy, so I don't want to go crazy. Any suggestions from our knowledgeable group?

I just got my buddy a bottle of Glenfiddich 18 year. It's very tasty and in that range.

I like the idea, but I am not sure these guys are Scotch drinkers... Thanks for the input, I will put it on the list.

My brother and I have recently been looking for some bourbon for gifting purposes as well. Blanton's is about $60 MSRP if you can find it, and about $175 on the secondary market (another crazy market like Rolex/PP/AP).

Can you bump up your budget a tad? If so, I'm a really, really big fan of Garrison Bros. Starts at $85. I typically can't handle the smell of whiskey/ bourbon, due to issues growing up, but GB really does it for me. It's the only bourbon I'll pay for.

I would consider splurging on a little better for 2 of them... not trying to sound cheap, but a couple of the guys have really come through for me throughout the year.

There are so many good options. Woodford, Bookers, and Blanton's all seem to be available everywhere. I also really like Eagle Rare/Buffalo Trace and Elijah Craig single, but they may be a little less common depending on your location.

Eagle Rare [which I'm enjoying tonight] is a very nice 10yo bourbon that should be relatively easy to purchase. Also, Willet Reserve, which is very [deceptively] smooth and a bit of a sleeper in the current bourbon market, not to mention a really cool bottle.

Stagg Jr would be a great choice. Bulleit 10 year as well. They are both ~$50 and aren’t too hard to come by.

Due to the Oregon Liquor Laws, our Costco Stores only sell beer and wine, no hard liquor unfortunately. It's a weird state...

I would love to find it... but I feel the odds are against it. Oregon is also one of the states that won't allow online purchasing... the online stores won't ship to Oregon.

Blanton's is definitely not available everywhere anymore. Much harder to find these days. @OP. Are they bourbon drinkers? |

Maker's Mark is extremely popular these past few years, yes... but it's good :) I'll +1 on the Blanton's...
My value picks? Buffalo Trace or E.H. Taylor Happy Turkey Day! |

Yes, they are Bourbon drinkers... but usually pretty cheap bourbon. I just want to get them something nice.

Blanton's, Henry Mckenna 10 Year BIB, Elijah Craig Barrel Proof, or EH Taylor BIB.
Some of those will stretch your budget to about $80-100, but well worth it when your coworkers realize you have excellent taste in bourbon. |

Blanton's is good if you can find it. Are you going to get them all the same bottles or different ones?
My recommendation would be to go for different bottles for each person. That way you guys could share and taste at your next get together. I recently had a bottle of Angels Envy that I enjoyed. Think it's worth considering as well. Can be had for $40-50 |

I hadn't really thought of different bottles for different people, but that is a good idea.

The less expensive, yet nearly impossible to get [in Ky unless you have the timing of a bass player]] list would include, Weller Antique or Buffalo trace. Good luck, dP

Blantons if you can find it. If not, Markers Mark PRIVATE BARREL SELECT or Four Roses Single Barrel
