Watch stolen from FedEx

Shipped out my watch thru FedEx . When the receiving company got it there was lotion from Victoria secret. Story goes I brought the watch to my local FedEx hub like I always do and watched her package it up with label on it . The pic of the box the receiver got was a similar box but the label was not in a plastic sleeve centered to box it was on the bottom by it’s self taped over . Now goes the process of finding and money back if possible . The label was sent from the buyer .

That’s unfortunate. Hope you’re able to sort this out.

another possible scam

My criminal minds thinks of ANOTHER POSSIBILITY...

IT IS possible that the receiver opened the original box, stole the watch, then repackaged the box with the label.

He would then video himself opening the box that he created himself to prove that it 'wasnt him or her' . IT WAS FEDEX!

Very clever and a very distinct possibility!

Good call. The weight of the package at drop off and any stops along the way should match closely.

This scenario is far more likely.

This entire thing stinks to high heaven and I hope this doesn't become a common scam. I would contact the police personally.

Between FedEx insurance and/or your personal watch insurance you should be OK.

Contact the Police? They have no interest in high end packages conspiracies where two people say different things(especially across state lines.) Thats a civil matter. And with no evidence, it's actually just an unfortunate LOSS.

Unless the shipper has jewelry insurance, this is not looking good for him.

It's gotta be the receiver that scammed the shipper, it's far more likely.

I'd BET that he did a video of the box opening and tried VERY HARD to act surprised by the lotion that he packaged himself..

Very sorry for your loss man!

That's bull. Sounds like a scam to me. Obviously fed ex packaged it up under your direct supervision.

Not a watch but I recently had the same thing happen. Sent a box to our daughter via FedEx with the label in their plastic sleeve. She received another persons box with my FedEx label taped to it. Apparently they tore off a label and it got switched. Have spent a week fighting with FedEx re our claim. Very poor service.

Sent out a watch years ago USPS Insured. Package tracking went all the way to "Out for Delivery".....never arrived to buyer. Ultimately, it was an "inside" job between postal workers. They were real good at figuring which small insured packages had the good stuff inside. The postwoman, who handled deliveries to my house explained to me how they do it...........happens all the time. For big ticket items, USPS Registered is the only way to go unless you have the ability to insure through the jewelry insurance companies.

Ya I’m sure this was a inside FedEx job . I’ve done deals with this other company before with no issues .

When you say she packaged it up, did she see it was a ROLEX?

Hmm, I thought I was a bit over the top video taping the boxing process when I sell / post. Seems it will have to be my common practice going forward.

In this scenario, the buyer sent you a FedEx label and insured it, right?

The fraud is likely his doing and he will be filing for insurance. He gets the watch and the insurance, oh...and the lotion, too.

If he never acts upon you, then it is almost certainly that.

FedEx is awful. They cover up their employees' bad deeds in order to escape liability. I had several $25k+ packages with them that were "lost". Thankfully I insured them. FedEx refused to show me any video or to be any help at all. Just my experience.

This sucks. Hope this get resolved. I am not that worried about the fedex/ups/usps doing wrong, more so the receiver getting the box and then claiming contents were different.

I have received Fedex packages from trusted sellers with high dollar items in them. I would not assume that they would ship it uninsured.
