Exotic pets
Does anyone on the forum have exotic or unconventional pets?
Kangaroo Tiger Vulture Alpaca Tarantula Python I’m looking at getting something new and different and leaning towards an ostrich for the eggs mainly so any advice is great. |

I have 3 small children, that’s kinda the same thing, right? Although, they’re not much into egg production.

Not terribly exotic, but, a ~30-year-old maximilian Pionus named Jake.

Not exotic (by australian standards) but we have a Blue Tonged Lizard and 5 ducks (as well as a more mainstream cat and dog)
The missus has also taken to hand feeding the wild Green Tree frogs that live in the Garden There are 2 or 3 that show up on out back patio table every night expecting a feed of crickets or meal worms They're usually gone by morning

They have shows for most any animal out there The top bloodlines of any species trade hands for pretty ridiculous numbers. Theres sperm banks out there where you can buy genetics from dead race horses, show horses, prized bulls, race dogs, show dogs; you name it. They have shows of the living bloodlines to compete and subsequently sell their breeding programs to people looking to get top tier genetics. You're mainly paying for a bloodline when it comes to most animal purchases. And in the case of the world's most expensive alpaca($750k) I'm sure that guy brags about it like someone would an exotic sports car. |

Just for the record. Alpacas aren’t as mean as llamas. But they spit like llamas do.
If you see an alpaca or a llama with its ears back and it’s mean mugging you watch out, it’s about to spit on you. Sent from my Apple privacy invasion product |
