Was watching the game and the way he collapsed right after getting up from making a tackle looked scary.

Awful, good for them on postponing. That’s one where i don’t know if the players could fire it up again. Brutal.

I have been watching since it happened. I am hoping a Doctor on TRF would chime in. I saw a Youtube video with a Cardiologist that explained it was probably a something or other, don’t ask me to pronounce it, where the odds are one in a million, but if the heart (chest) takes a trauma, a blow like a football hit, at EXACTLY the right moment in the heart’s cycle of signals, P-wave, N-wave, whatever, that can cause cardiac arrest. Obviously, it is a serious, life-threatening situation. Any TRF Doctors please fill us in, but all we can do right now is pray.

He’s in a medically induced coma so they could intubate him and put him on a ventilator to allow his body to rest and heal.

What a shock for what was supposed to be an important game for both teams.

The reaction from the medical staff worried me from the start. The look on the faces of all the players showed the seriousness.

Wishing DH the best.

“Put[ting] him to sleep to put a breathing tube down his throat” IS putting him into a medically induced coma (they don’t just give a sleeping pill for this) to intubate him (that’s what the breathing tube is) and put him on a ventilator (no one is going to stand at the bedside and squeeze an Ambu bag for hours and hours).

This tweet was from a non-medical professional, I think people get/got the idea.

Ambulance presence was concerning enough, but seeing players expressions was a whole different thing. Changed things instantly. That's a first.

Reminded me of Christian Eriksen going into cardiac arrest on the pitch in the last 2020 Euros. He deemed to “be gone” on the field and resuscitated. He miraculously is now back playing again for Manu. Hopefully this will be the outcome here.

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/world/e...psing-n1270602

P.S. those players choose to continue the match.

Get well, Damar! Someone suggested that they call the game a tie. Nice to see the player’s charity get so many contributions.

I believe this same injury happened to Chris Pronger in 1998 NHL playoffs.

https://www.ksdk.com/article/sports/...a-c93b5327d6b0

https://www.nhl.com/news/pronger-rec...yoffs/c-786998

Hopefully Hamlin has a full recovery as Pronger did.
