Masters tickets
I’m curious- i’m sure there’s plenty of people here that have been to the masters golf tournament. I’ve been fortunate to go twice now. That being said, I’m curious – how many of you have actually been awarded tickets/ been allowed to buy them directly from the masters? I along with at least five people I know have been applying for 15 years now and none of us have ever been awarded them. Instead, we have had to go to scalper websites and pay somewhere between 700 and $1200 for practice rounds. Just curious……

Yeah. I've been trying since the beginning of the lottery process and no cigar. Not a sniff. Not even for practice rounds. Starting to think it's worth it.

Masters tickets
I’ve tried maybe 3-4 times and no luck but my golfing buddies have won like 3 of the last 4 years between the 6 or so of them. Pretty shocked. They keep going. I was invited this year and politely declined with gratitude as we have our hands full this year prepping a second home for the summer season.
(Practice days not tournament days)

I've been but not through the lottery. I do know friends that have been selected though.

My uncles usually do. They have typically got maybe a set of four. The last 4 years has been a dry hole though

I’ve been applying, along with my friend, for about 10 years now. No luck and I try not to be greedy when requesting days.
I did go to a practice round back in 2004. I was going to buy a ticket on eBay and was advised by a coworker’s cousin who lived near there that I’d be able to easily buy a ticket on the street for a much lower price. I was vacationing in Hilton Head and decided to take a chance. I could have bought as many tickets as I wanted and I paid $40. It was a great experience and exceeded expectations. |

I don’t know anyone that’s actually got them through the lottery. My buddy gets tickets from the state of GA every year (Kentucky derby from KY and others as well) so I tag along with him on occasion.

Same here. At least a decade. I think Jim Nance ruined it when he talked about it on air many many years ago but I wouldn’t have known otherwise.
But I’ve been fortunate to go a few times. Friends of friends. Seen both ends of the spectrum. Once for a Wednesday practice round, par3 etc, and a final round Sunday. Was about 10 yards away from Phil when he the “shot” on 13. Seen Tiger hole out at number 7. So I haven’t won any Masters tickets but I have seen a few things

As i figured, thanks guys!! Really burns me up seeing people scalp them for $1000 and up. The last time i went as i left the grounds i walked to one of the guys working there and handed him my ticket and told him id bought his from a scalper for $1000. He said thanks, they wont ever get another ….

Same. 15 years in for me and nada. Was able to go in 2018 because a friend got picked in the lottery and took me. Amazing experience so will keep trying to hopefully go again.

Corporate gifts or scalp, never scored in the lottery

Do they honor third party tickets? There is a scary statement on the Masters webpage.
I’d be open to paying $4-$6k. Especially this year. |

Have hit twice since 2008. Multiple members of my family apply every year.
I went to med school in Augusta, and at that time, you could go near the exits and nice patrons would hand you their tickets as they were leaving. That used to be the way all us students could go for cheap, as most of the older patrons would leave around noon due to the heat. In 2009, they started cracking down on people asking patrons for their tickets as they left. One of my med school friends was apprehended by the RCSO, and was told at the station to either pay a $500 fine or spend the night in the pokey. There was a big article about it that week in the Chronicle. Lots of people got scooped up. Still happens. The next year, I parked and started walking through the parking lot looking. Immediately, an RCSO officer started watching and tailing me from about 150 feet away. Went back to my car and left. Word to the wise, if you get caught in this manner, or scalping of any kind, you go in the black book, and you'll never get anything ever again. Sent from my NE2215 using Tapatalk |

I’ve been, but it was a buddy that won tickets and gave them to me. It’s been a lot of years of applying with zero results.
