New members cannot post?

Hello all!

I recently joined a few weeks ago after being referred here when talking about wanted to sell my Omega and get a nicer Rolex model.

I'm not allowed access to the classifieds section to post my timepiece for sale, is there something I must do first?

Thank you for any information! (I did try searching the FAQ),

Josh

I'm pretty sure you need to become a member.

Now that this thread is in the right forum for support related questions, I can offer some help.
At the top of the classifieds section you are trying to post in, is a clearly posted thread/s, outlining all the requirements and rules of posting in that sub-forum.
No need for FAQ's, just check the top of the sub-forums related to your questions, and all answers are there to read...

How about non classified forums? Is there a post count that needs to be met before posts are posted without admin approval? Been a member here for six or seven years, mostly reading every now and again, and recently began posting. Not terribly inconvenient as my posts are getting approved fairly quickly, but am curious at what point new users are able to post without mod approvals?

I forget exactly, but either 10 or 15 posts required. Then it's all yours

Sorry to hijack this thread a little, but I didn't see much point in making a separate one.

How long does it typically take for a post that needs to be approved to show up? I've made several posts in conversations over the last few days, and none of them have shown up yet. AFAIK nothing I've posted has been off topic or against the rules, so I don't think they've been trashed.

Right, I understand 10-15 posts before they aren't required to be reviewed. I'm asking about the length of time before a post is actually approved.

For example, I made a reply to my introduction thread yesterday. I got a message saying it would be posted upon review by mods. It's been over 24 hours but the message still hasn't appeared. Is this a typical wait time, or should I consider my replies and messages pending approval to be poofed into nothingness?

I have to say it's frustrating to take the time to type something up, only for it to disappear and never be seen again.

I see 7 posts so far.

Are there others that haven't shown up?

Keep in mind that moderating is not a 24/7 full time job.

Only one now, in the who's who's section I made a thread about my great experience with DavidSW

Thanks for taking care of the pending posts. I understand it can be a pretty big time sink, I used to be a mod on a pretty active tech forum back when I had more free time.

Posts won't disappear unless they break the rules, but it can take up to 12 hours to get approved sometimes. Other times it can be two minutes. It just depends who's around and when.

Thanks guys for the responses.

I should have thought to look at the sticky's at the top of the forum. That mistake will only happen once!
