Which carrier would you choose to ship a Tudor from USA to Switzerland?
I'm selling a Tudor right now and the buyer is located in Zurich, Switzerland (I'll be shipping it from Texas). I've never shipped internationally before and am a bit nervous about it. For those that regularly ship internationally, which carrier would you recommend? I'd like to be able to insure the package, but I've heard there are insurance limits on international shipping. Is that somewhat accurate?
Thank you in advance for the help. |

FedEx and UPS are very good, postal services in Dubai can be challenging, no postal post/zip codes etc. FedEx delivered before time, excellent.

Uh, don't ship fedex if the value exceeds $1000. Here's the link:

Yeah, FedEx definitely leaves a lot to be desired in the transparency department: They’ll take your money for insurance but not make it clear where the claim limits are (you really have to dig into the paperwork to figure it out). I got burned about a year ago — shipped a watch that was damaged and could only claim a max of $1,000. No amount of begging and pleading helped my case. I was out a significant amount of coin after. FedEx is a great carrier when they care for your package and deliver. But when things go wrong, you really need an alternate insurance option to make you whole. Good luck! |

I've used DHL, was exactly on time, UPS no showed twice and I ended up going to the terminal to pick up but not sure about the insurance.

I mainly use Fedex but I have a Parcel Pro account for insurance. I would look into getting a Parcel Pro account. It was free when I signed up a few years back.

All of the carriers have low limits for insuring watches.
The only solution I’ve found is ParcelPro - insure and arrange the shipment through ParcelPro using Fedex as the carrier |

All shipments are regulated by U.S. Customs leaving the USA. These regulations limit insurance to a cap of $2500 unless you have a tax ID number and are registered with Customs. Additionally, U.S. Customs documents must accompany any package for delivery outside the USA. Declared value must match the insured value. If you try to ship an $8,000 watch to Singapore via FedEx with Parcel Pro insurance, the declared value can not be higher than the insured value - which would be limited to $2,500. If you attempt to declare a value of $8,000 on this Customs document, you are asked for your Federal tax ID number.
When one ships overseas from the USA, if they have Parcel Pro insurance, all insurance and Fedex documents are prepared and printed from the parcel pro web site. It is very user friendly. I would not recommend anyone use USPS outside the USA - once it is delivered to the local postal authorities in the country designated for delivery, that's it for the USPS's responsibility if it disappears. Good luck with a claim.
