I wonder if the final price they are willing to sell the watches for, at 0% interest, is retail or market value.

I have never, ever financed a purely discretionary purchase! I have taken advantage of interest free loans but always pay up at the end.

Likely not desperate but trying to tilt the game towards his direction. They pay low when buying and generally sell pretty low as well.

You can bet the customer is paying for it one way or another

Are car manufacturers desperate? They also offer interest free loans. I think this is just another way to grow their customer base.

Well it seems you need a small mortgage to buy a used Rolex now so makes sense to me.

I don't think you can compare with a car or a house for example. Watches are luxury items that you not need to have.

I will never buy a watch that I don't can pay cash for, but that is just me.

I love the wording in that email.
"You are pre-approved for $25,000" and then in the next paragraph, "To see if you qualify, just follow these 3 easy steps."
Advertising at its best

I use credit cards when I can for watch purchases, especially my credit cards with 2% back. I pay them off instantly, wait until the next billing cycle and request my 2% check

I bought my DJ41 from my AD on a 0% interest loan, had to put down 25% though.

Jocke, my best Swedish friend, I think they just really really want to get to know you, so are trying every way for you and only YOU to become their customer

The financing interest charge is probably 10-20% annually. They make crazy money out of it.

I received that email also. I am surprised that they actually show the buy and sell prices. The delta i have always been interested in charting out but spare time is short currently. So taking into account the inflated price and the high interest whatever that may be....blurgggg..

I just checked out the website.

Incredibly overpriced.

They might be desperate. And clearly they know more than me. They appear to be doing well.

But my impression is that they are stupid. Or brilliant. Hard to decide.

It’s a way to increase business and loyalty. Once you have your credit line open, you can always come back and buy another and another as you pay down the first one. That means less chance you will go to a competing grey. That being said, you probably get charged 24.99% interest for the life of the loan if you send a payment even one day late. No different than a store credit card.

A lot times with Affirm, they only offer the 0% for a short term like 6 months. They APRs for the longer terms are quite high (notice that the ad says "as low as 0% interest".
