Baselworld 2018 - Rolex Designers Please Read!

ok, I know this has been discussed at length on this forum and the cake is already baked at Rolex, but Rolex designers need to make this watch...

44mm submariner with the 3235 movement with a black and dark blue bezel with the wider glidelock bracelet from the SD43. All stainless with a flatter case back so the watch sits low. The watch does not need a helium escape valve nor the thicker crystal, hence making the watch thinner. No one dives in these watches past 100 feet.

If they made this watch with 3 different bezel/face color combos it would be a huge hit. All black, dark green bezel with black face, and blue/black bezel with black face.

C'mon Rolex...make this watch! ....And the msrp should be under $9k.

Too much overlap with the SD43, which is why the SD was changed up to 43 in the first place.

Sounds more like an idea for Tudor to me.

The SD43 is already pushing the boundaries by Rolex standards.

Rolex Designers, if you are reading this, please DO NOT do this.

Keep the Submariner at 40mm! Don’t mess with the size of a classic!

No worries. It’s Rolex that tells consumers what they have to buy and like,not the other way around.

This would be a bad move and one not needed for Rolex

Will never be made but it sounds like a nice watch. The majority would have to be content with looking at pictures though for the first 2-3 yrs.

As Neil (AK) says though, to much overlap with other models.

I doubt any changes were planned for '18 except higher prices. Rolex dealer book also says 2017-2018, just a thought..

Here’s hoping for the crown Clasp on a 41mm Datejust Jubilee Bracelet and not the oyster Clasp as the only option.

they can keep the 40mm Sub also. All watches have gotten larger...the 40mm Subs and Daytonas are too small. Rolex needs a second option (not the Yachtmaster) that appeals to those with larger wrists, but don't want the DSDB that is like a brick on the wrist. A flatter 44mm will weigh less and sit better.

That's a Tag or Breitling scenario...minus the Rolex bits

Dear Rolex;
Please return to a metal bezel insert, thinner lugs but keep the glide lock.
Big fan here and appreciate your time.
Sincerely;

44mm! It’s not a Breitling or a Panerai!

Yuck, 44mm Sub....no way. Sub needs to stay 40mm. Want bigger get the SD or go to a Panerai or something. I actually think the SD is too big already.

Thankfully I’m pretty confident Rolex would never do this so I don’t think I’ll have to worry.

Supplying enough SS models would be a start. What is the point of introducing another model that nobody can buy?
