I hate Christmas music

I said it now and feel better now....after 60+ years of having to hear it every year and it gets earlier and earlier every year ( now it starts the day after halloween) if I hear Frosty the Snowman or Its starting to look like Christmas one more time im going to hang myself.

Some are worse than others. The one that always sort of irritated me was that Little Drummer Boy Song. The trademark 'rumpa-pumpum' chorus is tiresome and the image of a youngster banging away on his drum while an infant is trying to sleep doesn't make any sense.

I didn't really notice it being early this year.

They started playing Christmas music a couple of weeks ago at Souper Salad, where I eat every day, but I have to tell you that it, even the secular pop stuff, is way better than the noise they usually play.

I always have earplugs with me when I go out, so I don't have to listen to crappy music, asshats on their phones, and wild, undisciplined children running amok while I eat.

I have to agree with you about that one, until I heard Bob Dylan sing his version. I really like it, but not so much everyone else's.

The music I don't mind as much as; Me, myself and I having to wrap all the darn presents myself. I never acquired the knack of wrapping, and it is one of the things in life I could really do without. Although the wife did help out after sensing my frustration with some odd shaped packages that are difficult to wrap.

Same here. It’s the same 8 or 9 songs I’ve been hearing for 45 years. Damn. I must be getting crusty and old! And it does seem earlier every year. You’re not alone my friend.

I don't mind Christmas music to a point; however, we have some radio stations that go Christmas music 24 x 7 during this time of year so I tend to tune those out.

We have a Christmas playlist we listen to pretty much every night the two weeks leading up to christmas.

Mostly Jimmy Buffett, Brian Setzer and Maria Carey.

if you hate Christmas music, you'll really hate the Netflix Christmas lineup

El Camino Christmas (2017, Netflix) -- One of the dumbest movies I've ever seen

a few nights later, I encountered...

A Christmas Prince (2017, netflix) -- The single dumbest movie I've ever seen.

I once replaced all of the music on my girlfriends iPod with only Christmas music while she slept.
She was so mad when she found out on her morning jog...the best part came when she told her family during dinner and they burst out laughing

Personally I would prefer a second thanksgiving.

The Pogues is the only tolerable one, probably because it’s miserable

Don’t start me on Christmas jumpers and socks

Interesting analysis.

Jesus (the Masiah) wasn’t just any infant, and he smiles in the song when the drum is played. Obviously, he can appreciate a simple gesture of admiration offered by a kind hearted lad with nothing more to give.

Christmas hymns are fine, but the secular crap makes me want to jump off the nearest bridge. Nearing 60 years on this planet and I still can't figure out what Rudolph, Jingle Bells, or Frosty have to do with Christmas.

Turn off the radio or change the channel. It works every time. Listen some rap for wahile as that should cause you to chill.

Hate is a pretty strong word. Haven’t heard one Christmas song here yet in Saigon but then again I barely left my house and gym and it wasn’t being played in Papua New Guinea either when I was there.

I like Christmas music. It reminds me of childhood, and simpler times.

A agree it starts to early and goes on for too long though

Every year I open a christmas shoebox and remove a few CDs. Of special fondness and memories is the Shawn Colvin Holliday Songs And Lullabies.

First discovered Christmas of a decade and lustrum ago ... foothills of the Sierra Nevadas ... misty 33˚ nights at 2,000' ... wolves howling ... starting a new life.

Life is never a printed script, a road map on which the highways are printed and unmoving. But through wind and rain, shifting sands kept the CD nearby, to be rediscovered for a couple of weeks at years end.

This time with a centenarian ¾ violin which had her back removed for, of all things, loose lining! Can you imagine her embarrassment!

John Lennon's song is the one I like. Only his version, that is.

And I spend nine to ten hours per day in a retail store so I'll be darned if I ever get overly sick of these songs and our constant need to make a jazzier version of them.
