Hi, I've been offered this Daytona but am unsure if it's a fake or not. The reasons why I'm inclined to think it's fake are:

1) Strange hour hand
2) Strange chrono hand
3) Location of the word 'cosmograph' on the dial
4) the small dials are not quite what I would expect on a 'cosmograph' ?

The seller thinks it's a 70's or 80's model. As always it comes without any papers or box and it's an 'inheritance'. One would think a proud owner would keep those items somewhere near the watch...

Sorry its 100% fake and made in wongtyme China in the last few years, and if you are so unsure about a so obvious fake. May I suggest you only buy from a reputable source like a Authorised Dealer.

total fake- the dial is not a daytona dial- it is a standard fake dial, with day and date sub dials- not a chrono

Hi,
I'm afraid that is a bad fake.
It also looks like it is brassing in the pictures which is where chrome plating wears off real Daytonas are Steel or Gold and don't brass.
The sub dials are wrong the seconds hand looks more like a sub hand than a Daytona hand.
Stay away!!!!

i think it means- china is wear most of the fakes are made and - wongtyme as in wrong-time

Not even a good fake!!!! Check the chrono feature. Most fakes chrono feature dont work..

I'm adopted so I could be anything for all I know. I don't think he meant anything but humor. We are all from different walks of life and all in this together. No disrespect was intended I'm sure. We've all been bashed and trashed here together. I'm the least racist person you will meet as I work with people that are the richest of the rich and the poorest of the poor. I guess all I'm saying is that humour is fine, as long as we're able to make fun of all races and nationalities equally. If that's the case, then I'm all for it.

I agree 100%. I love humor and would never intentionally try to be insensitive to anyone. I do my best to be a gentleman here. I believe we are all fair game unless stated otherwise. I would hope someone would have the courtesy to let me know if I've gone overboard though I am pretty good at monitoring my own behavior. I'm here for the knowledge and fun.
