Icon3 New Rolex unstickered

Hello all,
I bought a brand new rolex last week from a Rolex store after receiving the famous call. I was so excited about it that I didn’t pay attention to the fact it was given to me without any sticker on it, since the beginning of the transaction.
In fact, I just realized it today after watching some unboxing videos on YouTube, where unstickering the watch at store is part of the process.

I feel a a bit annoyed. I would like to know if it is normal to get a Rolex without any stickers on it? Thank you

Currently they are required to remove all stickers before giving to the customer. Normal!

It's normal. They also should size it for you. It deters people from flipping the watches as "brand new" since the stickers are off and the bracelet is sized. They can either remove the stickers in front of you, or more commonly they tend to do it before you come in if they know you're coming.

Totally normal and I wouldn’t be annoyed by it at all.

Thank you so much for your answers! I would love to specify something: are they required to remove the stickers in front of the customer, or even before showing it to the customer? Thank you again

I’ve bought from multiple ADs in recent years since sticker removal became standard operating procedure and they all show you the watch initially with stickers intact. When I hand them my credit card, they take the watch in the back where they charge my card, remove the stickers and size the watch for me. Stickers have been removed when they bring the watch back to me.

Occasionally, they miss a sticker or two.

I can’t say what is required or not, only what my experiences have been. Sticker removal does appear to be required though since it’s happening all over the place, or at least in States.

Thank you! Should I go back to the store and ask for some explanation ?

You might have been able to request to do it yourself in the store. Why anyone would want to do it always escapes me. I find it a pain to do it.

I’m guessing you love the watch and if so don’t beat yourself up about the removal of stickers

It is clear that these stickers have no importance for me 😊 I was wondering if this watch was really new or if it was an exhibition model....

You aren't missing much, they are just stickers.

Even before Rolex made it mandatory, I asked the AD to remove stickers as I didn't want to mess with it. They always miss 2-3 even now.

Welcome to the forum.

Did you buy the watch from an authorized Rolex dealer?

No, they aren't. I just picked up an Explorer & I never saw a green sticker on the caseback. My Sub Date didn't have one either.

All the watches I’ve bought, they removed the stickers in front of me (some 20+ stickers), in the AD’s “presentation room”, complete with Champagne, or a drink of your choice, etc.

I’m sure it varies AD to AD … but I do know (they’ve told me) that they are required to remove the stickers.

My husband bought my one and only Rolex for me for our anniversary in May 2021. It was purchased from an AD. We had an appointment to go into the store to pick it up. The AD had e-mailed me a photo of the watch in the coffin when he first received it, but when we were at the store to pay for and pick up the watch, all of the stickers had been removed. Didn't bother me in the least as I have no use for the stickers.

If you are offered another new watch, ask that they keep stickers on until you come in and inspect and decide you will buy it.

I can see why you maybe a little miffed; not knowing if it has been handled prior to you buying. Stickers give some (you maybe) the Christmas Day gift unwrapping feeling.

If I were you I'd check over the whole watch and bracelet every carefully. If all good then keep it and move on. If any marks are found then return it... but they probably won't replace for you.

If you can’t tell why would it matter? Don’t let stickers ruin your new watch experience. You bought a Rolex, that’s a momentous day. Enjoy and embrace the experience and don’t let it get ruined by intrusive thoughts about stickers.

I just got a new Wimbledon that was turned down by the person, for whom it was intended. I happened to be at the AD, as he did so. My SA asked me if I’d like to see the watch. I said “yes”. The stickers were still on the watch, when I tried it on.. When I said I’d buy it, they removed all the stickers, out of my sight, while retrieving the box and cards.

Exhibition GMT II and Daytona I fondled last year did not have any stickers. Both had working movements.

This surprised me. I bought a Rolex from a friend who had owned it for a few months but never wore it. He buys a ton of Rolex watches, including this one, as well as other brands, from a major US AD. The Rolex that I bought from him came with every sticker on it. They do such favors for him given his spend, it seems.

You are over thinking things. Who cares about stickers, you got it new from the AD!

When I purchased my watch from the AD in early 2023, they left a few stickers on. The store was busy though.

No, do not go back to the store. Just enjoy wearing your new watch.

At the point of sale, the sticker is removed either in front of you or in the back when the watch is being sized.
