Any love for the Gevril Tribeca Paul Newman Homage?
Recently watched a video from Wei Koh discussing the Gevril Tribeca "Paul Newman" homage and his appreciation for the piece. Now, I know it is controversial and virtually deemed a rip off but boy Im starting to think it has it's place in a collection. Prices have been on a rapid rise and it seems like they will continue to go up. Question, how do you feel about it?

I don’t care for homage watches, too many original designs that I’d like to purchase.

It was this video that clued me in on this watch, followed by the Keegan Allen Talking Watches video over at HODINKEE. Doing more research on the Tribeca and taking stock of reality, I realized I am unlikely to ever own a real vintage PN Daytona and for the same reasons Wei Koh made, it’d be a drama to wear even if one had the means to purchase one. I was very fortunate and found a used one from the original 99 run for sale a less than a month ago and went for it. Great fun to wear, definitely got the vibe of the real thing up close and afar. Amazing watch. Love wearing it and can only be appreciated when held up close. The level of detail is amazing.
