Black Dial Watch With Non-Black Strap?

Hi there. I’m curious if folks have photos of black dial/white metal dress watches with non-black straps? I have a white metal Lange 1 with the black dial on a black strap, but I’m wondering how it would look on a brown or blue or grey strap. The Lange boutique doesn’t have a large selection of straps so it’s hard to see there. I’ve searched the web but also don’t see many photos. Curious to see what folks think!

I wouldn’t pair a black dial ALS with a brown strap. You might get away with a dark navy, but that’s not getting you much of a different look from black. A gray strap might be your best bet. The right tone of gray could look smashing and completely change the look of your ALS.

Good question, I’m researching Lange 1s at the moment and interested to see pics also. I have seen black dialed Datographs with a variety of straps that look good but not Lange 1.

I’m having a little of same dilemma with my rose gold OD (original Datograph), not much pictures of anything but brown strap.

Picking up a Lange 1 Moonphase with day/night indicator in a few days (black dial on white gold). I personally think a dark brown, blue, grey and even light tan could work well. I am also hoping others will chime in preferably with some pics.

You can do black dial on a dark navy strap.

I think goes if the brown is not too dark.
I went with a medium brown on my black dial 5170

Great combo! Then again, the 5170 would look nice on any strap.

there are only 2 options IMO for strap color for a black dial dress watch: black & dark black

The old ALS moderator, Edwin, on Timezone was a big fan of IWC straps. If you do some googling you may find some of his posts. I wear my Datograph on a light brown IWC strap. Here are some pics from a recent thread:

There's a seller on here pushing a Dato with(out) an alternative strap. I think it looks good, but not sure if it would look good on me.
