Icon2 A Japan factory trained Grand Seiko Master tech / craftsman takes apart a Rolex

What do you think s/he would say about the dial, movement, case, bracelet etc?

Taking OUT of the equation: brand, prices, resale, business math matters and all that stuff.

This is purely an engineer / craftsman offering their detailed observations.

While there's plenty of deconstruction videos from a Western / Swiss German technician's perspective, I'd love to see and hear one from a Japanese one. The overall cultural perspectives and viewpoint on quality and craftsmanship would be a good read or viewing in my opinion.

What do you think?

It will still be good, don’t underrate Rolex, they are very good at what they do, which is mass produce solid time pieces. This actually takes incredible amount of capital and know-how to do. Thierry Stern once said one of his dream is to visit Rolex factory, to see how Rolex are able to output so many watches while maintaining consistent quality.

I'd like to see a Rolex tech taking apart a Spring Drive movement.
