I wants a Pepsi - but needs advice

Chaps

I am soon about to seriously look for a GMT Master 2 and I want it with a Pepsi bezel (Red and Blue) and hopefully with a Jubilee bracelet. This will be my third and final Rolex.

There are loads of black bezel GMTs on the market and the simple question is this.

1. Do I have to painstakingly search out a Pepsi bezel model ?

or

2. Can I buy an all black bezel model and get a dealer to insert a new Pepsi bezel or is this best not done. Will it for instance destroy the originality ?

3. Also how much does a genuine replacement bezel cost in the UK ?

Many thanks

Mick

It is an easy DIY, takes less than 15 minutes you can interchange the bezel. Not sure about the price oversea, in US about 150 to 200 dollars.

The GMT II with Pepsi bezel is only available in white gold.
Getting a spare GMT II Pepsi bezel would be almost impossible.

No it is fine to swap out the bezel insert. It's just a thin piece of aluminium and pops right out. You can do it yourself as the bezel assembly pops off from the case. It won't destroy the originality as the only difference between the LN, Coke and Pepsi is the insert. You can pick up a Pepsi bezel insert from a dealer or here on the form in the for sale section. Not sure what the current UK dealer price is for then. I would guess around £80?

You do not have to seek out any special model 16710, they are the same. The new 116710 ceramic is in black only and cannot be changed..

In the UK you can go in to any Service Center and most AD's and they will gladly sell you a red/blue insert for around 50-75USD.

You can swap it out yourself without an issue. I have both Pepsi and Coke bezels and swap them periodically. I found myself wearing Pepsi much more frequently. And the 16710 looks great on Jubilee.

Easy to swap but a jubilee bracelet is plain wrong.

what makes you say this? The gmt until recently was the only sport model available on a jubilee. Agree with swapping not changing anything so long as you keep the original.

Your opinion is plain wrong. But that's the beauty of it. It's just an opinion.

A Pepsi insert cost me £36 at UK RSC 18 months ago, it may be slightly more now. RSC now have a policy of exchange for new inserts but if you are lucky they may let you keep the original.

So I'd get the best example you can and then change the insert if you need to through RSC an AD or good independent. In the UK you will probably have more difficulty getting it on Jubilee, they are not rare but nowhere near as plentiful as in the US............

I have both black and Pepsi and change them whenever, I have two complete bezels, and I saw a complete Pepsi bezel on ebay for $350. Back in the day 25 years ago I bought my complete Pepsi bezel from an AD, for less than 50 bucks.

I have all 3 bezel inserts. They changed the black one which was slightly damaged for free at the world headquarters RSC here.
Sorry the syntax of that sentence is awful.

Mick,

The GMT II will give you almost limitless possibilities. Head to Rolex St James and they will set you up with a proper bit of kit, as y'all say on that side of the pond.

I find myself liking the look of the julibee more and more! I may have to consider purchasing one for my GMT. Saw one in person and it looked great!

Well if you want a Pepsi bezel inert on a GMT II there are plenty with them. They aren't particularly rare.

Just wrong the jubilee was made for the GMT and was the first Rolex to offer it.

Hi, I'm travelling to Geneva later this year, and I'm interested in getting the pepsi / coke insert there. Do you mean that anyone can walk in and buy the inserts from RSC? Do i have to bring along the watch and/ or the papers?

thanks in advance
