Mother of Pearl feminine?

Hi All,

I have an incoming coming this week for my wife that has black mop dial. After looking at a few models I thought they look pretty cool but never really seen men posting pics of their watches with a mother of pearl dial. I believe TT Daytonas and regular 36mm DJ's have black MOP as an option. Are MOP whether white, black, or pink usually targeted towards females?

Thanks!

I personally think they look better on a woman. But I also don't wear pink.

women also wear trousers these days , does not mean a man will wear a skirt

that said, i think MoP looks great on anyone although some (not all) of the patterns/colours are slightly feminine

Not Feminine At All

One of my personal favorite watches to wear at work...

Congrats to your wife

I've seen some guys who can pull off the black MOP but it's not for me. I bought my mom a TT DJ with factory black MOP diamond dial several years ago. Guess I'm biased.

Looking good as always, Sam!

I've always regretted not moving on this beauty when our member Stuart
(arttay10) had it for sale a few years ago.

Great thread as I am seriously considering an 18 k yellow gold Daytona with the white MOP and diamond dial to go with my white gold meteorite Daytona with the bracelet. I'm planning to get it for making it to 50 years of age!

It all depends on how comfortable and secure you are in your masculinity.

As for me, I've chewed nails, pooped bricks, and you can grind my bones to make bread;
I've had a borscht with a bear, farted on a whale, and called a man a pig to his face;
I've climbed a hill before breakfast and had tea on a mountain;
I've dated a redhead and told a latin woman what to do and lived;
I've pushed up, pulled up and thrown up, all three at once sometimes;
I can pick my friends and pick my nose, but never my friend's nose--in short, I am the very model of modern man.

And I wear both pink and a mother of pearl watch.

Certain MOP dials I really like. Black MOP Daytonas are right up on my wish list. Love the contrast with the sub dials.

On DJ models, they look great and add a little bit of elegance to the watch.

99 times out of 100 I would say diamonds and MOP are for the ladies, but that watch is super nice. The combination works perfectly. Very classy.

I have been seriously obsessing over the yellow gold 36mm Datejust with Black MOP and diamond markers. Obsessing so much that I printed out the photo of it from the Rolex web site in highest quality and I keep it on my desk at home. Serious obsession. One of these days when I feel like raiding a savings account, I'll have the real thing. Loved seeing the white gold one here.

No way is this watch feminine. But you have to own it and be confident. I'm a man and definitely look, talk and act, masculine. Buzzed head, beard, former US Marine, 6' and 240# of pure man. I like this watch and I like the 36mm size because I like a watch to adorn my arm rather than having an arm to adorn my watch. And yes, I sometimes wear a pink shirt under my three-piece suit. I also like floral ties sometimes. I have no doubts about my masculinity at all and I don't think anyone around me does either. I have a TT Datejust now with champagne dial and I love it so I know this one will look AMAZING on me.

I'm a fan of Mother of Pearl. :) I don't think it is feminine in the least. For me, its just another dial color like so many other watches. Get what you like and what makes you smile. Cheers, Tim

A black MOP diamond on a 16234, or 116234 is a awesome looking watch .. I also like the white MOP diamond on a 16013, 16233, or a 116233 .. I haven't seen a MOP dial on the 36mm stainless and rg but I'm sure I would like it

If you like a MOP dial and you are sure it will make you happy, then get it and wear it without a care in the world about what anyone else thinks .. It is your money and you can spend it anyway you want and if that means getting a Rolex with a MOP dial then so be it .. I have a friend that bought a floral print DJ and he loves it .. His wears a YG Daytona .. It's all about what makes you happy .. Good luck, and post pics if you decide to buy one
