I think the D-blue has been semi-exclusive due to the size. It's definitely not a common Rolex like the Sub or DJ. This will help the market in the future.

Do avoid the all white n the all black strap. They are not flexible enough for smaller wrist. All blue strap and black with blue line strap are very soft n comfortable. Order with the tang buckle too. Don't use the original dssd clasp. Good luck. Jen |

I don’t think modern Rolex as investment. There’re many different assets that can give you higher return.

I get offered 6 DSSD JC for every LVc so I dunno. Maybe I live in a unique bubble?

Bottomline. Both are not mainstream models like the black sub or black DSSD. JCs will go up in value like the 16610lvs. Guaranteed. |

Probably in some parts of the world to be fair. However we really have no idea what production will look like in 2018 however I am sure the 1st quarter of the year will show us where things will settle or where they are heading.

Congratulation on your new watch. I think you got the newer dial as well. I read it in a magazine in Japanese regarding the D-blue dial. D-blue after May 2017 has more blue on the top. The author were speculating if the pre may 2017 dial is descending into the deep part of the ocean and the newer dial is ascending up to the surface of the ocean.

Funny you say that, I had noticed that some have less blue than others. Mine certainly has more lighter blue than dark. Interesting!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Yes it looks great on the versatile Rubber B strap. I wouldn't ever buy a watch as an "investment" as I am not consumed by greed and avarice. I buy what I like.

Cokes and Pepsis were produced for decades in mass numbers. Are they collectible ? most definitely yes. They are a joy to proudly wear. The reason they command high premiums despite their abundance is because they are such a beautiful watch. I am never going to sell mine.
So it does not matter when or if Rolex stops producing them, it´s how much people want to wear it. Since it is bigger and very expensive it is for a narrower market. The Deep Blue will probably thus not ever be like a Coke or Pepsi. |

Hats off good sir. Well said. Anything is collectable if there is enough market demand for it. If you want to follow history then collectable pieces are usually ones that no one wanted at first release (Paul Newman Dayton to SD4K). Love it --> Buy it (if able) --> Wear it --> Enjoy it --> Repeat. |

For deepsea either u go for normal deepsea with mark 1 dial or deepsea blue. These two will be much sought after if the entire deepsea is discontinued.

Tom Coll had two. A 2016 BNIB and a mid 2017 worn but mint. The 2017 dial was exactly like yours. The 2016 noticeably darker and less identifiable as a D Blue under lower light. There’s definitely been a change in dials at some point.
