New or Used Pam 372
Hi everyone,
I have a chance at getting either a brand new Panerai Pam 372 or a very good condition Pre-owned full complete set that is about $1100 cheaper. My question is, would you buy the New or Pre-owned Pam 372. Is $1100 a big enough saving to go Pre-owned or is it better to buy it new? Would really appreciate some thoughts and opinions. Thanks, Mar1140 |

For $1100 I would go brand new and you also get 2 years warranty.

Yep, I agree with Nick. At that point, another grand isn't that much difference to have a brand new virginal one. ;-)

It would come down to how old the used piece is? If it's 6-12 months old, great condition, and has the remainder of warranty on it, I would go for the pre-owned. Save that $1100 to go towards your next purchase and it lowers the hit on resale if you choose to let it go down the road. If the used one is outside Panerai's two year warranty, then I would go new.

Depends on the age of the used one....if a few years old, a service will chew up half the difference, making the new more attractive.

Their loss your gain, but it really would depend on the condition of the watch in question and if you are happy with it. Good luck with your decision and don't forget we need pics.. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk

I think you might need to do some more shopping. There should be a lot more difference in price between pre-owned and new. Even if the watch was a return to an AD it should be more. Look to our Trusted Sellers and see the difference. Also, if the 372 does not work out you will take a bath if you pay anywhere close to retail. I prefer the 422 over the 372 for the second hand. I have seen 372's for as little as $5.2 in good condition from reputable sellers. Shop around and get as much information as possible.

Please allow my opinion to be heard.
1) From what I heard. 372 is the most flipped watch is PANERAI range of watches. 2) USD1,100.00 right? If I know the history of that very watch you are buying? Meaning, only one or perhaps just 2 owners and the watch is well taken of. I will get used. 3) However, if the watch is flipped many times and you do not know who were the previous owners. Then I will rather buy new. 4) Haven't you noticed, most if not all strap makers used 372 as their model of choice. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

That wasn't the basis of the OP's original thread. He simply wanted to know if the forum thought $1100 was a fair discount for a nearly new example compared to buying new. To be fair your reply doesn't really answer any of the OPs questions it just confuses the issue with random comments about Strap suppliers?? Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk

In this case as the O series dates back to 2013 I'd go brand new S serial.
But be ready to take a hit when you come to selling it, that's of course if you do. Maybe it's a keeper! Enviado desde mi iPhone utilizando Tapatalk

Just seeing this .I'm not sure if you made a purchase yet. The 372 is an absolute all-time classic. That said, preowned prices on this piece are amazing and you should be able to save significantly more than what you mentioned by buying used. If the difference is only what you mentioned, would probably go new but keep looking ...

372 looks great beat up. Go used.
You should be able to save more than a grand
