How does "wrong bracelet" affect value?

I have a red 1680 that I have been looking at. The watch has not the correct bracelet for this model nor the insert (aftermarket insert, genuine Rolex bracelet)
The seller is willing to switch the insert to a new genuine one.
The watch is offered at about 9300 USD.
What do you guys think? Good deal?

I have one pic of the watch:

Not a real clear scan but watch looks nice. Do a close up so forum may check dial closer.
Insert not a big deal but proper one as a long 5 insert can set you back 4-600. and bracelet looks newer and imho is not a deal breaker. I wear my subs on 93150's rather than 9315 or 7206 because its heftier and wears (for me) more comfortable. I'd be more interested in the quality of the case and movement after dial is vetted. The price is not out of line for a nice red sub imho.

X2. The 93150 and 9315 are valued very close for nice examples - a nice 9315 might be valued a couple hundred dollars more than a comparable 93150.

X 3 93150 is acceptable to most

The dial and hands look really nice on your watch..., As others have said, I wear my redsub on a 93150; the older bracelet is hidden away...

I think the bracelet is not a deal breaker. You can always switch if you want to.

X4 I stored my 9315 in favor of a 93150 or occasionally a leather strap (insert M. Brando "the horror...the horror").

Thanks guys! I have looked on the bay for the correct bracelet and they seem really pricey (1300 usd).
But if you say that the resale value doesn't get affected that much I might just stay with the current bracelet if I decide to buy the watch.

What do you guys think of the asking price?

Before you buy, post some clear pics of the dial, behind case, and writings between the lugs. If buying from an unknown source, attempt to get a deal whereby you get a few days to have it authenticated (most trusted sellers allow this in their return policy anyways).

If all check out, buy the bracelet here from a trusted seller and save money and headaches.

In my humble opinion, given the current market, your price seems ok IF seller provides a period correct bezel insert in good condition.

The seller is actually one of our local AD:s here in Stockholm and they are very serious, so I feel pretty safe.
They say that they will source a new insert. I think I probably will get a brand new one.
Will it not look strange with a new one on an old watch?

Then yes, I agree I'd feel better about its authenticity (but it never hurts to have a consensus!).

Do you mean "new old stock" that is correct to your watch?

Yea, since they are AD:s they probably will get a NOS insert. I doubt they have any used ones that has some patina.

If it's a NOS insert, will that affect the value in a negative way?

If it's a new old stock early 1970's 1680 insert, then no it shouldn't.

If it's an insert that fits, but is not period correct, then yes.

Sounds logic. Thanks!
