PAM 161 and 279 enroute!

I see I had the same dilemma as a couple others on here. 161(or 88) vs. 279. Found a place that had both so it made the decision more difficult. Last week I went with my original one I wanted, the 161. So Im looking at that 279 online all week and liking it more and more. Email my guy and he says since I bought the 161 he will take a little money off. Done deal. So now I got both enroute. So when I get home from overseas after a long hot 6 months Ill have two of the sweetest Panerais sitting there. Needless to say I am extremely pumped to finally be an official Paneristi, hahaha.

That is interesting.
Recently I found it difficult to decide between 2 Panerai's.
I really liked the PAM127 and the PAM177. O.K. there is a huge difference in price, but they have similar sandwich dials, similar movements and similar style cases.
Anyway, I got the 177, but the 127 is still something that I find it difficult to exculpate from my mind.
Who knows, it might just happen this week that I become a 2 x Panerai guy.
Please post a photo of your 2 Panerai's when you can

Sounds like alot of people find it difficult to pick between a couple. The way I saw it was, you only live once. Kind of a cliche saying but its true. So I say you go for it. You never know the next time you'll come upon that 127. And if you're like my you will go crazy thinking about it! Ill put pics up as soon as I get home.

you know what, i bought a 279 and i have been looking at the 161 since.. i chose between the same two you did, only you bought both!

I have had a lot of black dial watches and i told myself panerai's brown is done so well it looks almost washed out black out of the sun. it goes perfect with the full ti and it is light as a feather on the wrist.
The brown also brings out the green color in the numbers on the dial.

One day i will buy a 161 OR maybe a 8 day.. heck, if i'm looking at an 8 day minds well go for the 10 day right? haha... save my fingers from winding the little bugger.

I will say the 161 is very heavey. I am sick of heavey watches so i think the full ti was a match made in heaven for me!

I hear ya SubKing. I love em both. Im sure the 279 will get more wear. The 161 will probably be more of a going out at night watch. Thats why I decided to get the 279 too. Depending on my mood (flashy or subdued) I can make my pick. Thats why I like those 2 so much. Good luck on your next choice. Either way a Panerai is a Panerai. To me they are the coolest watches out there.

First welcome home. Glad you are in one piece.

Take the photos and note here you put them on your computer. Scroll down in a new post box and open the manage attachments. From there you load the pic file. Pretty simple once you do it once.

Be sure to post wrist shots of both pls.

Well this is funny. I go to Tourneau in Atlantic City today to get links removed from the bracelet on the 161. You wouldve thought they spotted a UFO. It was great. I walk in and say I need links removed. When I said on a Panerai, every sales person in the store had to come over and get a look at it. They dont carry Panerai in that Tourneau. Its gonna be fun wearing this watch. Ill post pics tomorrow. And 279 should be here next week sometime.

Is that the newest style bracelet...I had heard...over at paneristi that they were going to change the looks and links on the ss bracelets. Yours look bigger ( bracelet that is...). What series is the 161?

Yeah this bad boy is big! This is the newest J series. Its the SS/titanium mix. But I also have small wrists so that could be why it looks so big. And I dont take too many links out because I like when my watches hang on my wrist. Dont like it tight around my wrist. I think the new links you are referring to is the new 297 GMT. Its on the Panerai website.
