Seiko Turtle "click"
Hello everyone
So this is a bit of a technical question... When I had my Rolex Sub, and I wound it, I would hear a loud click maybe 3 or 4 times per full rotation of the crown. On my Turtle (and other turtles) I hear lots of tiny little clicks per full rotation of the crown. The other day I noticed that if I listen closely, between all those tiny little clicks, I can hear the 3 or 4 louder clicks that I could hear with the Rolex. I was doing a little bit of reading, and I know that there is a part on the movement called a "click" that comes into contact with the ratchet wheel which is attached to the barrel that holds the mainspring. When we manually wind a watch (at least a Rolex Submariner), the loud clicks that we hear is the "click" clicking as teeth from the ratchet wheel pass by the "click." My question is, with my Turtle, why do I hear so many tiny little clicks between the loud clicks produced by the "click"? I'm just curious. Thanks! |
