Incoming Seiko Jubilation!

The Jubilee has seen a resurgence in Rolex Sports watches with the Pepsi GMT.

Seiko make their own Jubilee and in terms of looks it is very close to Rolex.

The Seiko Jubilee is a very practical no-nonsense bracelet. Links can be added and removed relatively easily with a pin vice tool (cost $4).

The Seiko Jubilee reminds me of a vintage Rolex Jubilee bracelet with the characteristic rattle from the links on the clasp. I don't know why but I like the rattle, its as if the Jubilee is saying "Hi, I'm here for you!"

The Seiko package is extraordinary value for the price (US$190) on Amazon.

SKX007Jubilee.jpg

The SKX007 K is a very loyal trusty timekeeper. It doesn't have the bling of a Pepsi but it is a workhorse tool watch that yields very satisfying and relaxed daily wear.

The bezel/dial/rehaut all line up right and the lume is out of this world, and arguably out shines the Rolex.

The 4 O'Clock winding crown with crown guards shows thought has gone into ensuring a more comfortable fit on the wrist and protection to the crown from knocks.

Overall as a wrist experience I'd rate this a 9/10.

Congrats and enjoy Steve-O I agree with everything you say about the SKX007. I have one and it's my workhorse. I wear mine on a NATO because the Jubilee is too small for my wrist It's a great watch

Great writeup, Steve-O! Another great value. Many dismiss the jubilee as being too wimpy when in fact, it's amazingly comfortable, holds up after years of use, and easy and cheap to replace if necessary.

Knowing me, ya' know I had to mod mine, including the jubilee. I use OEM end links w/ Super Jubilee bracelet.

I have been wearing my SKX009 on Uncle Seiko's amazing z199 bracelet. A virtually exact copy of one of Seiko's best original bracelets.

The vintage ones go for hundreds of dollars, and are hard to come by.

Very similar to a jubilee, but with brushed finish and flatter solid links. Also has 8 micro-adjustments on the clasp and screws connecting the links, so very easy to get a good fit. Great comfort as well.

It's a super value at $69. http://www.uncleseiko.com/store/p86/...P_Divers_.html

Not my pic, but the same combo I'm currently wearing.

I absolutely love my old, beat up SKX009 on a Seiko jubilee bracelet. I find that even Seiko fans like to bash it but I've yet to find a more comfortable steel bracelet. It's also an incredible value as brand new ones can be had for under $40.

Great jubilees, gentlemen! I've been wearing my SKX on the jubilee lately- it's so comfortable and a nice change from an oyster. The rattle is part of the charm.

OK but you can buy extra links. I don't need to because my wrist is only 7 inches.

Thanks Dan! Yes I agree on all accounts! If you've had a vintage GMT with a Jubilee, there's really very little if any difference to the Seiko Jubilee, amazing!

To be a classic it has to be durable, and that is a big plus with the Jubilee, its stood the test of time in terms of practical durability and comfort, what more could one ask.

The recent release Rolex Pepsi with Jubilee is testament to the quality of the Jubilee. Rolex had many options but went with the Jubilee.

Yes, a lighter wallet. But that's it.

I have the jubilee on my 007 as well. So comfy!

Mines a JDM version so I had to crack it open and see what the big deal is.

Well, as said many times, no difference in performance of finishing. Japan went and set up the Korea plant and it operates under the same quality system. All parts interchange. On the J version, the dial, caseback and movement are all marked Japan. I believe it is sort of like the Swiss rules with “Swiss made” with number of domestic components.

But, for me at least, I prefer my Swiss watches to made in Switzerland and my Japanese watches to be made in Japan.

Either way, great watches and the jubilee is the best! I’m looking into one to swap onto my 1680 occasionally. (The Rolex version in that case)
