Nice article and nice watch, but I cringe looking at that almost rounded bezel. Horrible polishing.

Just double checked, and the Montauk has the blue ring around the tachymeter, which I think I prefer a bit, but came in a LE of 300, so it's a bit less special.

Regardless, they're both cool watches and definitely something fun to own for the Summer.

Correct - Montauk not only has blue tachy, but brown subdial rings, and RG accents - and lacks the royal blue accents of Rodeo Drive. That said, they are similar in the white (or cream) dials (tachy in case of Rodeo Dr), and baby blue/sky blue color schemes.

Yes, I agree about nice for the summer indeed! ;)

Rounded? It was as sharp as it gets.

Good stuff interesting watch.

The bezel and especially the screws appear to have been polished?

Does the original owner say otherwise?

Of course it has been polished but a good polishing job. I own the watch.

Maybe it is the way light reflects in the pics and the the bezel does not appear super sharp. No biggie ... as I said, it's a stunning watch. A bezel is just a replaceable item if it comes to that.

Gotcha. Wasn't clear, thought it was suggested it hadn't been polished at all.

Beautiful watch regardless.

Did you own he piece when it got polished? To me it looks like it either has been polished multiple times or it had some deep scratches removed. Why I'm asking is cause I'm guessing the last polish it had probably wasn't by a audemars repair center, they should and probably would have opted for a new bezel (and new screws...).
Regardless, a new bezel and new screws and it will be a lovely piece again. Great model!

Can't see it as sharp from your pics. The "nut" part of the bezel is very rounded. Soft angles.

Sorry.
