I'm in a pickle - need input

I've got a two liner Pelagos and a tried and true Omega 2254.50.

Part of me wants a 14060M as I've always fancied one, but man the market has become wild on these over the past couple of years.

I guess my question is this: Would you rather own a Pelagos and 2254 or move both to pick up a 14060M? It's the only logical means of picking up a 14060M as I do have other hobbies that require equal capital.

Keep the 2245.50. Flip the Pelagos towards the 14060M and save for difference in cost.

I would not move both for the sub...that would not be logical.

The Submariner is my dream watch, so personally, I would sell them both to pick that bad boy up!

I would wear the 2254.50 as my daily and revisit the question later.

Maybe a second watch that is not a diver?

Do it! It sounds like you really want a Sub. Make the move now because the price will only go up. I got mine 4 years ago, it's my only watch and I wear it 24/7.

P.S. Welcome to the forum and happy hunting.

Omega 2254.50 would never fit right no matter how much I tried always too tight or too loose. Bezel font gets on my nerves and looks off somehow even though the dial and hands are the nicest on any omega I've seen. Gave it my brother and he loves it. That said the Pelagos is nothing special and the new ones have IHM so flip em and frolic along to the sub. So perfect.

edit: I also loathe the bezel operation on the 2254.50. It's so frustrating to rotate that I found it became effectively useless.

X2. You won’t wear them with a Rolex on your wrist.

I have a 14060M and love it. It’s my daily driver. With that said I would never sell my 2254.50. It’s an amazing watch, The legibility and lume blows away the Sub, but I’d have to give the in-house movement and cool factor to the Sub. My point is you’d regret selling the 2254.50. Good luck...

It sounds like you’d prefer the sub, so that’s all that matters. You’re consolidating two divers that you may be tired of to one you’ve always wanted. Sounds good to me!

Same here, flip the Tudor, keep the Omega and save for the Sub.

About 10 or 11 years ago I flipped a 2254.50 for a 14060M and have never regretted it a day in my life. The Speedy that I also flipped....different story.

If the 2254 is to you what the Speedy is to me then you may regret it. Although it doesn't hit you right away. I only regretted selling my Speedy after about 5 years. By that time the pricing got outrageous. I bought mine brand new from an AD for less than they were selling for used and beat up. I could no longer justify buying one to have alongside my Sub.

No one here can gauge how connected you are to that watch so it's easy for all of us to say "flip it". Only you can decide if you want the Sub more than the Omega.

Hands down I would go with the sub. I went through the same thought process for over a year. I picked up a 4 liner 14060m and love it. The omega hasn’t gone up in price like the subs here recently so you could always buy one later if you so desired.

Trade both ASAP. The 14060 is an ascending watch and the price of entry is increasing as we speak....usually it's a bad idea to buy on the upswing, but this is a benchmark reference and will always be amazingly popular.

The 2254.50 is a great watch...and the market is trying to get it up there in price, but it hasn't been able to maintain consistent higher values...so that's good in terms of replacing it down the line.

Pelagos is cool, but not really a factor in terms of being collectible right now, so if you want one again in the future...it won't be too hard to acquire at a sharp price.

your omega is one nice watch. I would personally trade both for a nicer omega and wait for the rolex prices to fall, if that is ever gonna happen

Sell both, either won't get any wrist with a sub in the stable.

Better jump on that 14060 asap....I wouldn't say it's going up in a crazy rate some other references but it keeps edging up for sure. I wouldn't sell the 2254.50 for the watch either, it's an amazing timeless reference from Omega.

I’m not a big fan of buying on credit but...PayPal credit offers interest free for 6 months and David SW takes Pay Pal. Just an idea if your concerned about price increase. BTW my experience with David SW was very impressive I’d like to buy the man a beer next time I’m in Florida.

At David - If your down PM me I’m in Tampa and Fort Laurderdale every few months.

Get the Sub. It's hard to beat the 14060m for a one watch lifestyle.

I'm with the consensus here. Keep the Omega, get rid of the Tudor and add a little cash for the ND Sub.
