Got to explain this one to my fiancée...

Wasn’t even close to looking for this watch, but the AD brought it out whilst I was looking at a day date 40 and asked if I wanted it - tried it on and loved the green dial so went for it! Will have to make sure my next watch is ordered through them!

I know there’s a lot of people with these here, but you can’t blame an excited watch guy for sharing his new pick up!!

Wow, an honest AD... trying to buy a DD and down-sells you a LV.

you didn't find the Day Date you like?

Dealers are good.. I know 99% of the people will pick up this hot watch if they aren't actively looking.

Think the 'financial sense' is the route to go!

I found the YG Day Date 40 which is what I was looking for and I've got to say it was awesome. Love the gold colour and the watch in a slightly smaller size to the DDII really has a more 'intricate' look to it, especially the fluted bezel, which I was a big fan of.

The only problem was that the one they had was with a champagne dial which just isn't for me, I think it has to be the black - with the diagonal motif.

So now I'm considering if I place the order 'blind' as they can only get one in for me if I order it, not just to look at.

Tell her you pulled a family from a burning car, and the accident occurred because the guy was pissing about admiring his new watch and not watching the road. The family were all saved, with only minor cuts and bruises. The guy gave you his watch out of gratitude, and at his wife’s insistence. It was new, so he had the box and papers.

If you were gonna buy the dd and ended up buying the lv I’d say you saved 20k and that is a good thing.

Do what I did. Tell her you got it at a great bargain and with the extra cash you saved take her to some fancy spa for the weekend. I got two days in a fancy spa admiring my watch and she got two days of pampering. Game, set & match!

Fwiw, I also promised her some expensive jewellery at duty free T5 in Jan. I'm crazy but I still know the only thing right in life is.....happy wife, muchos happy life!

And that is a mighty fine watch!!! You could just mesmerise her with the green dial. Most likely wild work!

1. Good thinking. that's too much "gold" in my opinion
2. Even if you ordered it, if you don't like it, can you get your deposit back?
3. You can tell your fiance that you saved $30,000 buying the Sub-LV instead!

Got to explain this one to my fiancée...

Congratulations!

Just let her know it was meant to be, just like your relationship. When you saw it you knew you had to have it.

Nice work, play the DD40 card and get the LVc shuffle. It's a hot watch, congrats, RJ!

Just tell the missus this is a bit like a Birkin and she'll get it.

Cheers guys, I’m pleased to say the ‘$25k saving’ might not last very long as me and the fiancée are going down to take another look at the day date tomorrow!

Luckily it's my wife who tell's me to make sure I keep the Hulk as she loves it :)

And also suprised to see that a Hulk was simply in the safe waiting for someone to buy it. Interested to know which AD this was for curiosity

I love the Champagne dial. That DD looks perfect on you. But so does the Hulk. You can't lose with either.

I hear that SS watches are very rare in UK so you will be able to resell the Hulk at a small loss, if any.

Great choice! your fiancé will understand, just tell her the truth. Always need to be honest with each other, it doesn't matter the situations, and besides who doesn't love the hulk. Come on.. :-)
