Look like a great car and performance on par with exotics as expected.

I can’t afford the gas for that where I live

I'm interested to hear the price. Imagine if this started at 65k. More likely 80k.

No manny tranny, I guess the dual clutch automatic gearboxes are taking over. Sad.

It's a great looking car, for sure. It'll be nice to see how this does at Le Mans. For a road car like this I'll always like a manual transmission but I'm gradually starting to accept the fact this may not be a thing soon from now.

Everything we have read (I hope) indicates mid 60’s...

Not ready to give up my 2018 yet, but a couple of years to get over the initial teething pains, well, we will see...

Looks like a winner to me. Midengine, super car status, exotic looks, under 3 secs, removable roof, and will mention it again for under $60k. Wha!!!

All the modern 'Supercars' look pretty much the same.
These are the two models that do it for me. Nothing looks like them.

Horrible.

Remove the badges and noone will have an idea who the maker is.
The C8 just shows how beautifully done the C7 was

Agree

Most look as if a 12 year old watched the most recent transformer movie, and was asked to draw a car. I understand the wind tunnel performance aspect, but the lack proportional styling is disappointing. Porsche attempts to maintain 911 styling, but even it is fading fast.

This is what the Corvette community has been waiting for - mid engine - exotic styling - priced at $60k - true to its roots they kept the targa top.

The configurator is on their website - no pricing for each option yet but still fun to play around with it.

Crazy enough I think $60k ish gets you a pretty solid build.

Now if we only didn’t just have a baby 6 months ago lol - I need something with some semblance of a back seat.

Very nice, interesting look. Such a drastic change for vette. I like it, amazing bang for your buck. I like the interior set up, that center console with all the buttons on that tunnel. Nice storage space behind the motor too. But, what about the front trunk, what is that for,. I did not see any pics about it. This car will sell really well.

I definitely want this. Planning on a GT3 in a few years, will have to see this in person but looks very promising. However, wouldn't want to be an early adopter.

"According to a new report by Hagerty, development of the new mid-engine Corvette is delayed partly due to the aluminum frame warping so much when the car accelerates, that the glass engine cover is busting. The car, which has a twin-turbocharged V8 hybrid powertrain, is said to be able to deliver as much as 1,000 horsepower."

I have reviewed much of the release material and videos, and I have to admit, it’s not bad looking ! Bargain basement price for that performance level, and of course, it will be RELIABLE.

Never been either a Corvette afficionado or a hater but have gravitated towards Euro offerings. Last February I rented a C7 coupe for four days in SoCal and was highly impressed. The C8 looks stupendous and having an open mind about them looks to be the sporting car bargain of the century.
Just curious though...during the C8’s rumor and gestation period I thought the mid engine car was going to be a higher tier, more expensive car with a facelifted C7 front engine car offered at current levels. Looks now like it’s mid engine only.
