divestraps . com

divestraps. com -- Anyone have any experience with this company? I purchased and paid for a fairly expensive strap November 12th - was told they were moving and may be a slight delay - which is fine but now its been five weeks and still haven't received anything and they are not responding to my emails.

I really like the straps on the site and anxious to still receive the one i purchased - so i am not intending to flame them -- but curious if anyone has had better luck or knows someone there directly.

Regards.

Hi, I am im the same situation, ordered a dive strap approx. four weeks ago. Sent an email a week or so ago, no answer or anything at all from them. How hard can it be to get an internet connection up and running???

Beginning to be a bit worried here...

I have, a couple of month ago...had no problems at all...

But even though there are no bad intentions behind the current delay, I really feel Divestraps should be honest here, at give some response back to anyone who might be waiting for a delivery. It doesn't serve any good, to leave people in the dark

The rubber straps are worth the wait though...they are excellent!

(..but then again...I only waited 4 days for mine...)

Same here. Ordered the one piece rubber dive strap on Nov 22 and heard nothing. So I called a few weeks back and talked to a friendly chap who said they were moving and should be back online in a few days. Since then I've emailed again and still have heard nothing.
A little communication goes a long way.

isn't this the operation in the UK that got flak on another forum for their "kevlar divestraps"???

Timing is everything. Just received a return call from Duncan @ Divestraps. He apologized for the delay as he has been waiting for the new internet hookup. He's now online again and has sent a few orders out already, with many more orders to fill.
Duncan asked me to pass along this info as he will get the remaining orders filled and emails returned asap and wanted to thank everyone for their patience.

Hello, been waiting for about 7 weeks now. Bought the 20/20 with the white stitching. I'm about to give up. Is there a problem with their straps? They look like good quality in their pics. Have not been able to contact anyone for some time now, I really just want a tracking number! Just looked on my Paypal account and the strap was paid for on Oct. 28th

the only info I got was that they were moving (Dec 9):

"Thank you for your enquiry. We are currently moving house and as such
our internet access will be limited to none over the next week or so.
If you do not receive a reply to your email, please be patient and we
will get back to you as soon as our connection is restored."

Now that Dan has talked to them I feel a bit more comfortable.

The strange thing with their site was that when you ordered the 20/20 Original Divestrap, you couldn't specify the stitch color. I want black stitch, but dont know if I am getting that... So if Im unlucky, I will get one with white stitch after 6 weeks wait...

I've been waiting as well. Don't know Duncan but he seems like a good guy. Between the move, new internet connection that took 2 weeks longer than anticipated, and a postal strike in the UK he's just now filling and shipping orders.
If your have ordered a strap and receive it, make sure to let the rest of us know.
Thanks,
dP

Eric,
Per my PM, I think the controversy was the definition of "kevlar". Not sure you can make a strap out of real kevlar and they were called out on that. Others might have a better explanation of it. His straps look like high quality though.
Make sure to let us know what you think when your's is delivered.

Hey guy's!!
Don't know how I missed this thread, but would like to say that Duncan is a standup guy!!! I purchased one back in August I believe it was.....It took 4 weeks back then to arrive as well but it was mentioned on the site that there would be a delay on the 20/20 strap as it was the most popular and hard to keep up with the demand and different orders for stitch colour ETC..
As for stalenhag, you were meant to add the stitch colour in the paypal order form along with size of strap and weather you wanted it punched for holes or not...+ any custom work ie:notched out shoulders on the strap for lugs... I got mine in a 22mm white stitch for my SD and had it notched for the 20mm lug arms!!! Love it,very comfortable and the quality and feel is awesome!!!
On the flip side,I do believe in good communication, that is the key to any sucessfull business!!! You all should have been told up front of the hold up as in Postal Strike, moving location and internet delays!!! Sorry to hear this fellas but I do believe you will get what you paid for.........
If anyone needs more info,PM me!!!!
Have a great holiday season all...
Rob.

PS: Here is my rubber dive from them.....

thanx for the tip, I couldn't find such info when I placed my order, so I went back to the site yesterday to check it out. When I tried to place a new order, this came up:

My confidence with this dealer is becoming lower and lower, still no replies on email either. Is it possible to get a refund from paypal?

All I have to say is 8 weeks with no response in the last 4 of those weeks is not acceptable. I will not order, nor will I refer anyone else to that half-a$$ed company...EVER. If my strap is not here by Monday I will be filing a claim with Paypal. Ok, I'm done.. Merry Christmas everyone!!!

Thanks, Rob!

Actually, the strap is a christmas gift from my GF, so I hope it will arrive soon.

Still a bit worried about the fact that Paypal states that the merchant is not able to receive money, has Paypal closed Divestrap's account...?

I have checked out Maratac Elite as a "back-up", but Broadarrow.net doesn't ship outside the U.S anymore

The biggest problem I have with this at this point is the complete lack of communication. If the situation is a postal delay a simple email from them stating packages have been shipped would erase a lot of fears.

not going to fight with them over a hundredd dollars - but its definitely annoying.

anyone have recommendations for a different (ie more reliable) source of watch straps that have the same look (cooler than a straight nato strap - but not a metal or leather strap)

Are you looking for nato and zulo straps? Confusing as they are not near 100 bucks??

If you are looking for a fast response and nato/zulo, email david at USAsgtE5@gmail.com

I would be surprised if it took ten min for him to respond at any time of day or night. I was impressed with his business..

This is my backup:
http://www.westcoastime.com/newmacowaba2.html

Similiar look as the Divestrap offering - will not go in to debating pro's and con's with the different options - but will fore sure order one if Divestraps don't get their f*****g act together. Totally agree with you, a simple email response would be enough to satisfy me at the moment. Kind of hard to believe that it would take 4-8 weeks to get their internet connection back, did he move out to the Amazonas???

And the fact that paypal can't transfer funds to Divestraps anymore isn't a good sign...

Well, my hope is slowly fading away to be honest. However, as long as I don't have it confirmed it feels a bit stupid to order the Maratac strap.

A bit sad since my girlfriend ordered and paid for it as a christmas gift - so much for a merry christmas
