Camel Trophy Watch
I’m guessing a few of you remember the event. Well I’m a fan but never found a watch they offered (“Adventure Watches”) that didn’t look as cheap as it was...
But the other day I happened across one I’d never seen before and I liked it! Swiss made by Mondaine so not total garbage. It scratches my Omega X-33 itch as it is also a four-button digital dial with a true analogue there band display in the center. The rub is that since I found the auction, right up until tonight (the watch is inbound) I have not found a single image on the web of this watch. There is/was a guy in the UK that had a website dedicated to these watches but the server is down. Anyway, I have found another Mondaine made model, and it uses the same rubber covered pushers (that model has a more conventional quartz chronograph layout, similar to an ETA 7750 but quartz) and none of the markings or other details lead me to believe it isn’t genuine, but it seems to be the rarest model made! PS the most “desire able” model is the superchrono which can go over $1000 in mint condition, but it looks really cheap and is Japanese quartz with an alarm. They did offer a few automatic models... |
