Good for him, there are many US marines out here, where I am currently based. I tip my hat to these brave men and woman. The first time you get to basic training is always scary. However the friends and memories you have last you a life time.

Everyone bonds together well in the FOB's and PB's out here on the ground. Attacks are daily and after a very short period of time, you get used to constant attacks. Close encounters make you appreciate life so much more. Most importantly for my self I will never forget those who are KIA. It is always a humbling moment.

Very well written.

Your post made me think when I went through Basic at Ft. Benning.

I still remember that first day like it was yesterday.

He will too

It takes a special person to serve their country.

Thank you to all who have and still do.

GOD bless them all

Ronald Reagan said "Some people wonder all their lives if they've made a difference. The Marines don't have that problem."

I appreciate your heartfelt post, and that fine young man standing up to the service of his country. God bless him, and all who serve or have done so already!

To those who have voiced their support for our heroes, thank you, too.
