I have a Rolex and would love to pick up a BB GMT or BB58 in the future. Both brands are great and have their place. Some posters clearly feel insecure about the way their watch can be perceived. If you like it, wear it in my opinion

Or comparing Whole Foods to Dean & DeLuca. Both fine but one in a more select category.

Friend, having a rough day? My word! So upset!

The other point I made is the styling of Tudor. They do what many of the not really outdoor clothing companies do; they all copy Patagonia whose gear is the best mid range outdoor gear on the market. But they can’t completely copy the original. So the copies look not quite right or perfect.

You can call that a “stupid statement” but it’s true. Then there’s the business of the lesser movements in the Tudors.

To each their own but I simply don’t understand why these truthful statements about Tudor have you so angry. They’re just watches. Just watches.

Excellent post!

I just picked up a Ulysses Nardin Classico with the white face. Maybe it’s not the Breguet quality movement I’d have liked at twice the price. Maybe I’m committing a terrible faux pas selecting a dress watch for a watchmaker known first for its dive watches.

I just like the way it looks and wears and respect it for an in house movement. I will maybe be looked down upon by my friends with finer dress watches but sometime life is about stepping out of the box a bit!

A blessed evening to all!

I don’t think there’s any irony.

Ulysses Nardin is just another watch company with some notable sport pieces. I’ve never seen the panting reaction to Ulysses Nardin the way a select few in here react to Tudor. They’re decent watches, not iconic like Rolex.

i will avoid writing a novel and simply say that Tudor and Rolex are not on the same level and it shouldn’t be argued. Rolex is far superior but Tudor is still great!

Technically they're about the same in my opinion but the Tudor is 200M waterproof and the Rolex only 100. On the other hand, if one would test the Rolex I'm sure it would dive 200 M without any problem too.
If Tudor can design a GMT with the same svelte case as the Rolex GMT then I'll be impressed. The Rolex is imminently more balanced and comfortable.

ı love tudor designs especially chronographs. But i dont like the hands too big.

Why dont they use some simple design? Their cases are very good.

They make nice watches. I wish the watch cases were a bit thinner.

Look, a watch is a watch is a watch, it doesn't matter what brand you buy as long as you like the watch, it does what you want it to do and it is within the price that you want to pay.

Buy what you can afford, be proud of what you have bought, enjoy your watch and wear in good health, do not get hung up on brand names.

Is rolex going to come out with a tudor black bay 58 style? if so that would put pressure on tudor.

Tudor is loved and dismissed for the same reason, it’s connection to Rolex. I love Tudor, and Rolex.
