A new Sub will be released with a 12 day power reserve. Take that Panerai.

All Rolex watches to come on a jubilee only, even sea dwellers/day dates etc.

One always hopes that after a Basel reveal, things quiet down a bit. But the pent-up anticipation for a new Sub this year didn't get released, and instantly carried over into guesses for the next reveal. Expect your question to get asked countless times between now and April 29, 2020, along with other questions such as: What colors will be offered? What metal grades will be offered? What size will the case be? Will there be more than one case size? What about a lady's version? Will there be a red line? How fat will the lugs be? What kind of bracelet will it have? How proportional will the bracelet be to the lugs and case? Will there still be a no-date option? And everyone's favorite, Should I buy now, or wait until after Basel? Answers will be offered and rationalized, debates will ensue, and people will convince themselves one way or the other. But until the reveal, we will get no closer to knowing any of it than we are right this minute. Your question might as well be the answer each time it's asked - but it won't be.

And the really messed up part is, if a new Sub doesn't come out next year, the speculation up to that point will have looked like a warm-up for what's to follow. Buckle up.

File under: manifestations of unresolved Baselworld fatigue.

Watches that we will not be able to find at our AD anyway?!

Or they could offer a more accurate "Pan-Am" GMT than the meteorite, using Boeing 787 max parts for the dial

In all seriousness, we will get an updated sub next year I think

I think they will bounce back strong next year, they have got a lot of watch, not production, criticism this time which is unusual for them in these hype years so it must sting, I hope.

I would think Milgauss or sub refresh next year. 2021 is the year of the Explorer II. Though I think it's perfect how it is now. Maybe back to 40? Who knows. Platinum Explorer II with ice blue dial, LOL!

Now that they got the GMT, Datejusts and DayDates updated with the new movement (for the most part), that does clear the runway for Sub updates.

Basel world 2020 Rolex Predicitions

Following the roaring success of the cyclops on the sea dweller, Rolex is gonna bring that good juju to another line that’s never had it:
the oyster perpetual with a cyclops over the applied crown logo!!! - So as you get older, you can still see your Rolex coronet!

Then there will be a huge clamor for the cyclops to be added to the Explorer 1 also in Baselworld 2021...
