Is this fake? Submariner Datejust

Hello all,

I was given this watch in 2013~ by a relative and I just assumed it was a fake and stored it away. However, I've just come across it again and decided to get the opinion of someone a little more clued up. I've checked a load of guides/videos on spotting reals/fakes and honestly have no idea. I'm leaning toward fake, but any advice is welcome.

Where does it say Datejust on it? It's very fake. Just wondering.

What makes you think it's fake? Please educate rather than mock.

Sorry that's not the rule here, members will not educate people with the signs of how they determine your watch is fake. Your watch is definitely fake though. Was this on eBay once? Not even close to resembling a real Sub.

There are a lot of tells. For one the sub doesn’t have that case back. That’s off a sea dweller. Looks like the 3 dots under the Rolex logo on the crown are off too. Sorry man. There are a few other tells.

Take the word of the experts here. There are at least 6 tells on the watch that it’s a fake and that’s without even taking off the case back off to check the movement. Put it back in the drawer and forget about it or better still in the trash. Sorry to disappoint but it is what it is.

One less mistake for the counterfeiters to make!

There is very little on this watch that is correct.

The first question to ask yourself, did somebody really just "give" you a $9,000.00 watch?

If you learn about an authentic Rolex, it only takes a glance to know that this watch is fake. Learn what is real, you will know what is fake.

Not trying to be obtuse here but I would think that the counterfeiters would be fully aware of the tells on their merchandise.

a lot of times i would suspect they then try to run them by us here to see what tells stick out the most. If you are not careful it becomes a bunch of members here helping people to tweak fakes. We might notice the big issue, but the smaller ones that slip through thats confirmation that we missed it. Good news for them

Gotta be a fake as the crown is almost perfectly lined up at the 12 position.

I respectfully disagree. Counterfeiters are not a bunch of sophisticated people with a large R&D department. I doubt seriously they would intentionally make a mistake on their product. They do have access to PC's and TRF.
Anytime I see a brand new member with zero input to the Forum post a blatant fake and ask specifically to point out what makes it appear counterfeit; I'm suspicious. I'm all for helping an established member. NOT someone new that will no doubt disappear after he gets what he came for. But that's just my opinion.
