In 1968 I bought a Zodiac Sea Wolf for $40 at the Ft. Sill, OK PX. It was a nice watch that I used until 1971 when I purchased my GMT 1675, which I still have. The Zodiac was given to my brother at that time and he lost track of it, probably tossed at some point along the way. It is worth much more than $40 today and is well-regarded as a quality timepiece.

I would say my first real watch was my ceramic Omega Seamaster Pro. It was a recent gift from my wife back last year.
This year after the arrival of my first baby daughter, I decided to treat myself to the green sub :D |

My first good watch was one of these Tissot Compressor divers. It was my father's. He passed in 1971. Eventually I got to wear it when I was still a teenager.
I don't have it anymore. I gave it to one of my father's good friends many years ago. I kept another watch from my father, a dress gold Tissot visodate, extra-slim, manual-winder from the mid 60s. The first good one I actually bought was this Speedmaster Auto from 1976 (got it in 1981). I wore it as my one and only for more than a decade. I still have it. It was recently restored by Omega to brand new condition. Every now and then I still wear it. It looks soooo 70s ! But is one of the most accurate watches I own and the stopwatch's central minutes hand is a delight to use. |

My first "real" watch was a blue Tudor Submariner, 36 mm, which I bought for 725 € in Madrid, Spain, when i was 24 in 1999. It took me about a year to save that amount of money ( at the time was 125.000 pesetas spanish currency). Got it with 25% discount. Still have it and keeps perfect time. Was muy only watch for many years. Will post a picture later of it...
