This being a Rolex forum you're likely to see a strong bias for the Rolex... but that is a beautiful JLC.

That's the thing, though....

THAT'S THE THING about Rolex: It's capable of being worn on the golf course, at the club, driving, even wearing shorts (to Polo or a tennis match). And yes, in formal attire. But, IMHO, that absolutely gorgeous and lovely JLC . . . isn't so versatile. It would look ridiculous with all BUT formal or fine office wear.

I gotta say again, though: That JLC is GORGEOUS! So elegant, understated, refined. It whispers class loud-and-clear.

JLC

I'm a bit biased as I have a MC in steel and bought it for the refined movement and classic look that suits the leather strap more than the rolex. I suppose the decision also hinges on the other pieces in your collection.

JLC, not such a fan of the fluted on a strap, kind of jars, the JLC flows better.

YES! That's it exactly. The JLC has a greater Feng Shui to it.

For a dress watch that JLC is a nice pick. I wear my 18038 on a bracelet casually as well. So the 1803 is more versatile IMO.

JLC. In fact, the rose-gold JLC Master Control is on my short list.

JLC for dress, 1803 for daily wear.

1803 if on bracelet, otherwise I like the JLC.
