Big congrats! I tried it on a couple of weeks ago and it took a couple of hours to wipe the smile off my face. BIG, big watch purchase.
Oh yeah, and don't engrave it. Cheers |

HUGE congrats!! I don't think that engraving it will be that big of a problem if you'd like to commemorate something, a friend of mine has his YM engraved and he's very proud of it (wife got it engraved for him), makes it his favorite watch. The platona is so nice, I don't think you'd ever flip it anyways! In either case, what an amazing watch.

Congrats man.. awesome watch.. drools.. i'd strongly advise not to engrave the watch but if you don't plan on selling it in the future then just laser engrave it lightly so it'll be easier to polish off if you decided to sell it in the future.. your choice.. once again congrats...

If you will under no circumstances be selling it.. Then by all means, go ahead and make it yours. Understand that we nut jobs tend to trade all the time towards the next piece. Therefore, it is not recommended.
It is a very special watch. Enjoy Edit: Didn't see that you have been here for awhile yourself. Surely you know then |

go ahead and engrave it. You can always replace the case back. It will by no way destroy the value, IMO.

Congrats fella
And if you want it engraved have it engraved its your watch who cares what others think, and to be honest my engraving is quite superficial that it can be polished out if needed. |

It looks absolutely fantastic. Showed one to my wife and she asked what other Daytona options were there. After looking at all available she chose this one and it arrives today. It also complements my YG GMT nicely. Think of all the money that is now available for "R" tires etc

If it's going to be a keeper, whether it gets engraved or not is neither here nor there from my point of view, Think of engraving as the ultimate scratch that tells a personal story! As has been mentioned, if worse comes to worse, you could always swap the caseback down the track. |

Huge congrats on this incoming . I like personalised watches and would be very happy with an inscription from the Mrs. I keep my watches so resale is never an issue for me.

Congratulations, A truly elite watch. Over the past year, this watch has grown on me. I think this piece as well as the BLRO are the to iconic watches in the Rolex lineup. A wonderful purchase

Nothing wrong with engraving if you plan on keeping forever. I wouldn't want to replace the caseback on a platinum Daytona...

Glad the later part of the thread shows more love towards engraving.
If you buy to flip in two weeks time then different. Otherwise...Why not? Congrats in advance!! |
