Been rocking the platinum dial for the last 3 years. It goes with everything in my opinion, and gets compliments quite frequently.

More casual than formal. Steel bracelets don't look good with formal attire IMHO. You could dress it up with a dark brown croc strap for example. Still a sports watch though.
