Yep here too, just tonight at the base club for dinner I spotted a yellow gold day date on a 70ish gentleman. Looked just right on that gent.

Every watch I see I pay attention to and try to identify.

I always pay attention to watches. I saw a Explorer II white dial on the subway yesterday. I was in a meeting yesterday and the guy I was meeting with had a Yachtmaster. Today I saw a Submariner and a Pam 111 on the streets of NYC. You see a lot of nice watches here on a daily basis.

I do tend to look, if we are out at dinner, or at a shopping mall... Mainly because it saddens me that so many people don't wear watches and use their cell phone for a clock...

Lately it seems that it is such an anomaly that if I actually see someone with a watch on, I try to figure out what it is out of sheer curiosity.

Oh yeah, it's an illness.
Talked to a guy today who sported a fake two-tone sub with a GMT bezel and Explorer flip-lock style clasp. Oh the horror!!!!

I look for rolex watches, and usually strike up a conversation. Its a good way to network, esp in business. Most people like doing business with people who notice small things like that.

Sure, definitely. For me, a watch is such a personal item, I'm curious to see what others wear (even though I know a good percentage of people wear their watch as "just a watch", and don't think nearly as much about it as I do).

Yes I do , I believe you can tell a lot about a person by his watch , especially when the watch is a fake . Socks and shoes are important too .
Do not get me wrong , I'm not saying I judge a person because for what he has or wears , but sometimes those signs can translate in some indication of what kind of person they are .
