Authentic/Condition - Expert Opinion Sought
I am looking to purchase my first Rolex and the following caught my eye.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...=STRK:MEWAX:IT I am a little nervous buying a watch off ebay but the seller is from my home town and has agreed to go with me to the local AD and have them verify the watch as genuine (hopefully they are willing to do that). Prior to my bidding I would be grateful for confirmation that this watch is genuine and any comments on condition as far as you can tell from the photos would be much appreciated. Hopefully I will be joining the ranks of Rolex owners soon. Many thanks in advance. |

Welcome to the Forum!
Those pics and seller's feedback are NOT the greatest. Wrong box. This item sold, did you buy it? |

Bad pics to judge anything. The box "pillow" should be suede but appears to be cloth. If it's cloth, it is counterfeit, like that found on the thousands of pillows from other counterfeit boxes.

Except for the dodgy looking cushion , papers and box itself look ok . Pictures of the watch are non conclusive and the feedback alone would make me hesitant .
Local pick only is Ok : Just meet at a Rolex AD and have it checked out . |

The watch is now sold for 2700 pounds. He has one piece of nasty feedback that drops his rating considerably. The watch looks fake though and the packaging is questionable. The watch, if it was genuine, would have never sold this low. There may be a surprise in the outcome yet.

It looks like the surprise occurred as there is no longer a watch there when tapping on the link:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...=STRK:MEWAX:IT Your watch did not make the grade it appears. Go spend your money wisely Grasshopper!

Terry, welcome back my friend. It's wonderful seeing your old mustachioed avatar again. Stan and I have been holding on waiting for your return - probably a few others also. Take care.
John
