I’m sure that all of my case back stickers have been Rolex Green. That clear one does not look original.
Also, the communication stated that the watch is brand new. If you have any proof to the contrary, then I would definitely go to your Trading Standards Agency (or Your country equivalent).
Good luck. Hope it all works out for you.

And remember, the case on a YM is different than other sports models.

Agree on the stickers though, stickered = stickered, not wrapped in something.

Can't tell if the bracelet has factory stickers though.
I have the same model on my wrist right now, and the brush finish on the case and caseback look nothing like that

Hey guys,

Just to update, I’ve spoken with Authenticwatches, specially Peter Grant, and I’m hoping we can come to an amicable resolution.

It’s no longer an issue regarding stickered vs oem stickered.

To be honest, if it was proven to be unworn and unpolished, I was planning to just call it a day...BUT...

It’s now at a point where I believe the watch is polished, and I purchased a “new” watch from them, and feel I should not be penalized.

I took the watch to an AD locally, and they showed me under their lighted loop where it’s been polished... I also have pictures of these magnified images.

Peter wants to confirm this for himself, so I’m sending the watch back to them tomorrow, and we’ll see what comes back.

I’m hoping they do the right thing and will be sure to keep the community updated.

Net/net: You got a bit overly excited and finding the watch you were looking for in NOS condition and jumped the gun. You did the right thing coming here for opinions as well as taking it to a local AD (Tyson's?), and you contact management. They obviously tried to pull a fast one on you, which I'm sure works with most non-WIS. I expect them to give you a full refund. Lesson learned.

I'm sure he's well aware of what is going on. AW has been doing shady stuff like that for years, to include completely polishing OFF serial numbers of specific watches as to eliminate the possibility of tracing them back to the dealers they source them from (and/or for other nefarious reasons). Their M.O. seems to be selling "new" grey watches with no original box or papers, that have been polished, and come with an "Authentic Watches" warranty in place of the factory warranty, which is useless.

I am sure they will do the right thing and give you a full refund, after all, calling that a new "stickered" watch is outrageous. There is no need for any special lights or loop to ascertain that this watch is well worn and re-finished. It has more wear than my watch which I have worn every day for more than a year.

Appreciate the support! Can't believe the drama this caused today, all over a 10% restocking fee on a 10k watch!

This is great! I hate when petty salesmen play these bs games with us! Keep it 100% if you want the $$$ from the watch community! Stories like this make me appreciate DavidSW even more! I hope everything works out for you op.

Based on the posts I have read so far, Authentic Watches are over a barrel.

I am sure the OP will be happy with the outcome.

And it looks polished to my eyes.

Pardon that mine is so dirty, but I hope you can see that the brush finish follows the curve of the case, and is very uniform. I have refinished a LOT of Rolex cases in the last 35+ years, and getting that perfect factory looking brush on the back of the case is nearly impossible. At least it is for me. This YM has not been polished.

As far as caseback sticker, I agree it looks post-factory

Definitely polished..
Just look at the bracelet edges..or lack of them..
Badly polished equals..LN cond...to them...lol..
Liars..
I'd return and lose the 1K..if you trust them enough to actually return your funds..and not keep the watch..and ..your $$$..
Or.. show them this thread and see what they can do..
Not worth the time or trouble for small claims imo..
Never understood why people are so eager to wire $$..to total strangers..
Lesson learned..
Good luck!
Here's what my recently purchased NOS YM w/5 year warrantee..looks like for reference...

This why I don’t buy grey.... I have been tempted but in my research I would not have purchased from this grey.

No - if you pay on CC you can get a refund from CC issuer. Not so if you wire the money.

Thank you Street fish for this thread.
Let's keep sellers honest and ethical. Calling them out like this helps educate everybody else.

For every thread like this I am willing to guess there are 10 other buyers who don't do a thing.

I agree , that is absurd , everyone in the watch business , buyer or seller knows that stickered means FACTORY STICKERS, not plastic saran wrap.

And the 10% restocking fee is adding insult to injury.

I almost bought a new Breitling from these guys. Maybe I won't anymore.
Kinda ridiculous...it's like selling a watch "with papers" then sending a generic warranty with it.

No "like" about it...it's exactly what they are doing.
And, the generic (in-house) warranty they provide is apparently worthless, as reported by several folks that have attempted to get warranty repairs/replacements from them.

I usually google watches; Other websites and Authenticwatches tends to pop up. At least now, I know which one not to click on.

As one seller in the Diamond District told me "You want stickers on it? Let me go put stickers on it." That really crystallized the whole "buy the seller" concept.

Also reminds me of when I bought a "collector new" watch, which apparently means something in dealer lexicon, according to the seller. There was nothing "new" about it. And we're talking about a well known dealer.
