No, but that quartz movement would break my heart...

Cool watch. But you need a BLRO or 16710

Hard to beat the original. But it’s not a bad filler.

Really want a BLRO but waiting for the call in the interm my 16710 does just fine to scratch the itch.

As I was born in 79 I have been thinking about picking one up. I think it would compliment the BB GMT quite well.

Indeed the 4 and 5 digit BLRO’s are better alternatives. True tool watch, multiple inserts, far more balanced look, proportioned lugs, no circle on square appearance, bracelet options, as well as a bracelet the seamlessly meets the case, rather than looking too small, bezel that won’t fail, and no excessive shine. For my money, I would take the tudor gmt over the BLRO, alas it’s what the gmt used to be before they dressed it up as a disco ball. I would argue it’s the new appearance of the BLRO that has driven the older models price through the roof.

I got tired of the AD games and pulled the trigger on my own Tag. I considered all the other "Pepsi" models out there, like the Tudor BB and the Ball AeroGMT, but I liked the Aquaracer the best. For the price, it simply can't be beat!

The Tag Heuer Aquaracer Pepsi GMT is a great looking watch. I have a Carrera and a Monaco and I like a lot of what TAG Heuer does. I bought one a few years back because I really liked it, and to a lesser extent, stave off the GMT Master jones - which it didn't.

Initial impressions were good. The two colour lume was a nice bonus. But the more I wore it the less I liked it. The GMT hand could disappear in some artificial lighting conditions which would cause the horizontal grooves on the dial to became prominent and saturate the dial. The date window was never easy to read in less than perfect lighting and sometimes impossible. This was a big disappointment because I like a magnified date and it was a feature that helped sway me.

The weight and thickness were significant but my Carrera is hefty and I don't mind wearing something comparatively heavy. But the bracelet turned out to be uncomfortable once I was wearing the watch all day. I can put a Sky Dweller on at 5am and just forget about it until bed time. The 11 series Sub, 42mm Polar and GMT Master might as well weigh nothing, because they are so comfortable that I forget I'm wearing a watch. The Tag Aquaracer GMT was something I often looked forward to being able to take off when I was out and about with it.

I gave it a good try out before I bought it but in real world usage it didn't work for me. But it is a beautiful watch. Being a TAG, I bought it from my AD at well under MSRP. WF bought it from me and gave me a good price for it. That went towards my Monaco calibre 11. Three years ownership didn't cost a fortune and I managed to put it into something better - for me. No complaints.

Another Rolex collector who is also a big fan of Tag-Heuer. My first nice watch was a Tag Carerra. It has been all over the world with me. Nice Tag GMT OP.

Same here. I still wear my Calibre 16 day date in rotation. It's heavy but it wears comfortably. Unlike the Aquaracer GMT which is heavy and uncomfortable.

It's all about niches. If you find something that fills the niche you're looking for, great.

However, when you start talking about comparisons of watches across brands, well, let's just say there are a lot more variables to take into account.

Cheers. I wore my Calibre 16 as a daily for a decade. It will stay in my collection as long as I breathe.

The Aquaracer is a Calibre 7. I have been trying to read up on this movement.

Tudor gmt is the best Rolex Pepsi alternative. I have both and I don’t think it’s an alternative as they are quite different and I love them both. I’d go tudor all day before the tag. Only slightly more, at retail anyway. If u could get the tag for 2500 used then I can see saving 1500 but the tudor is a great watch. Tudor gmt also holds value way better than the tag if you did ever need to sell for whatever reason. Anyway, agree there is no alternative to the Rolex Pepsi. It’s a lovely watch and others Pepsi’s aren’t the same at all.
