Question regarding 1984 16550 cream dial

I am currently looking to purchase this piece from a very reputable auction. I've been digging info online for explorer II's from 1984-1985 (factory flaw that makes the dial turn creamy and it's fixed after 1985)and I realize it is a good mix of white gold markers and black markers. So does anyone have any information in regards to this particular situation? how much should i be looking to pay for a piece like this with no proper box and papers as well.

Thanks a ton guys!
