SS Daytona trade up...

I’ve had my 116500LN white dial Daytona for a few years now. I can count on one hand how many times I’ve worn it. I am thinking of swapping it out with the WG, blue dial Daytona or even a YG GMT, green dial. Decisions, decisions...

The 116509 blue is a great reference. I don't think you can go wrong here.

I’ve thought about doing the same but haven’t had the balls to pull the trigger yet. Doesn’t help that the PM prices keep climbing. Ideal scenario would be an add but if you aren’t wearing it and want to trade up I’d say go for it.

What if you don't buy a Daytona and go for another reference?

What makes your feel that you'll wear blue or green dial Daytona more over a black dial Daytona?

I think cause I just like the weight of gold compared to the SS on my wrist.

My current line up:
YG green dial Daytona
YG sub blue dial
YG president, black dial diamond dial and bezel
Pepsi on Jubilee

That’s a solid lineup. Maybe you should go big with the platinum 116506

I’d first examine why you aren’t wearing the 500. Maybe Daytona’s just aren’t your thing. That said, I wouldn’t buy the WG till I resolved this.

EDIT: I see you’re into PM.

Makes sense, good time to capitalize on the crazyness with SS DaytonaC prices

Yes I have ss daytona yg daytona, yg oyster flex and platinum. Platinum is 55% heavier than gold for the daytona model. In honestly ss is best for wear daily because light but I think I like yg look the best when it is clean.

I would probably for the gmt. That is a very collectable watch. I suspect that they will be at 100k+ one day

I agree - if you're just not into it, you should at least get double what you paid, if not 150%. I'd do this all day!

Make sure you try on the blue WG Daytona before making the change. It looks nice in photos, but I was underwhelmed in person. The blue is a little dull, IMHO.

Once you go Gold or Platinum, Steel feels flimsy regardless of hype.

If money is no problem, I would rather keep SS Daytona (iconic) and add PM.

I would consider the gmt. If you don’t wear your Daytona now, a new variation may not make a large difference.

Given your line up, I think the 509 blue is a solid choice.
