Daytona dial change - question
A couple months ago I bought the 116500LN black Daytona in stainless. I find it difficult to read the time at a glance. Rather than trade it in on a white one -- how does one go about getting the dial changed from black to white?
Not wanting anything special about the replacement dial --- just white. What would that cost if you go through an AD? Would doing that void the Rolex warranty even if done by an AD? |

need to wait till warranty expires, or if they allow the change you forfeit the warranty

I had a dial swap done on a 116509 that was brand new. There were no issues at all and the work was done by a RSC. There were no warranty issues.
I was fortunate that the Dealership covered the cost of the dial swap because they wanted the sale. |

I should have said RSC instead of AD. Therefore, everyone else please answer on this question too:
What would that cost if you go through the Dallas RSC? Would doing that void the Rolex warranty even if done by RSC? |

I heard that Rolex won't do a dial swap on a 116500.
They used to on the 116520, not sure why it's changed.

I'm now thinking about trying to find a Daytona with gray dial #116519LN. I'm pretty sure I could easily read the time on that one.

Another forum member checked on this for me with some AD contacts. Apparently since the dial color is on the warranty card for the 116500, RSC will not do a dial swap between black and white.
If you could source the dial an independent watchmaker could do the swap for you, but if it ever went back to RSC you'd have to switch it back first. |

Call Rolex and explain to them with the scarcity of the watch that you went with the first option. Unfortunately your first option wasn't your ideal choice. Don't take the first no as the final answer, speak to a supervisor. If that all falls and fails call Geneva Rolex and explain to them the same.
I can't speak on dial change experience for.the 116500 but I can for the 116520. |

Has anyone got an example of a new daytona C in stainless, with the WG dial? That would be the best combination..

They won't do it. I've been looking for a Daytona, going to loads of different ADs. I don't care about the warranty/ flipping it etc so I suggested they put me on the waiting list for a black which is easier to get and we then swap the dials. They told me they wouldnt do it...

I find the dial on the white DaytonaC easy to read - maybe you can trade with someone on TRF who wants a black dial or with a TS
