To the average joe, the SD43 looks just like the sub, gmt, deepsea, and probably explorer too.

Sd43 is the perfect sub without the diver extension.

It's not a sub. Sub is the 'perfect' sub.

Agreed, is why I own a SD43 and not a sub. Only subs I ever liked was the PM yellow gold sub with the blue face.

I have to disagree with you regarding the proportions...the SD43's proportions are spot on, the Sub Date however...not so much. Only my opinion, but I have owned both.
