With my acrylic crystals I used a soft polishing cloth with some rouge polishing compound. Just on the crystal. Really took out the small nicks and scratches.

I was an exclusive Datejust guy until I was ruined by the sport/pro models, but I still love my Blue DJ...I prefer the older style case with the brushed lugs.

With a strap go for the 16233, 16234 or 16200, make sure they are sapphire crystal.

One of the nice things about DJ's is the very limited outward change to the watch over the last 60 years. You can get as new or as old as you feel like paying for, and the look on your wrist is the same. $1,500 will probably get you a nice DJ, and $2,000 should get a sapphire crystal version.

For leather straps, it's hard to beat a white dial. It goes well with whatever color you pick. Gold is pretty flexible, too, but I like white better.

If I had my preferences, I'd get quickset (an 80's upgrade) and sapphire crystal (90's), but two of my favorites pre-date both those upgrades. 60's and 70's DJ's can be real bargains and can have lots of life left in them.

I love my 116234 DJ!... But, I may have to up grade to a DJ II... Feels strange after wearing my other 40mm plus Rolexes and than coming back to a 36mm case... But! Over all I love the DJ line... Some thing about the look of the DJ's???... Classy!?

Blackout, it's supposed to be smaller than the sports, it's a dress watch. Beware the mind can play tricks on you!
