Hey Steve,

I just wanted to thank you for an amazing thread. Thanks to you I’ve realized and have got a lot of inspiration. Earlier this year I decided to sell my beloved Yachtmaster, realizing that I’ve always been a pure tool watch lover, the Yachtmaster felt a bit too dressy and far from what I was actually looking for. I decided to move on and ended up with a Submariner, a timeless classic watch, love the brushed bracelet, the bezel and its zero f’s given concept. I recently took it on a trip to China and wore it all the time, couldn’t be happier. I think you have taught me the truth about watch collecting, love what you do everyday and choose the watch that shares the some love. Even though I don’t dive, the Submariner is perfection for my lifestyle, from the office to the beach and everything in between. Also, you’ve inspired me to get leave my comfort zone more often, explore more, maybe I won’t get to the North Pole, but I will be traveling and enjoying this planet and what it has to offer more, of course, with my Submariner on my wrist. Thanks again! Hope to hear soon from you.

Great news! Let us know when it’s published so I can add it to my bookshelf right next to your other book.

Hope you’re well, my friend!

Just read the whole thread and cannot wait to read your book (just ordered The Lost Men based on your recommendation). Incredible, awesome life and I thank you for sharing a snippet with us on TRF. I truly wish you all happiness sir.

The first few pages of this epic thread provide a good lesson. Give a man the benefit of the doubt, until he gives you a reason not to.

Wow Steve, I’m truly impressed and embarrassed at the same time. First, I’m impressed and glad you battled through all the criticism during the start of the thread and go out with a bang at Page 14. Thanks for sharing all those adventures.

I’m embarrassed cuz all my watches are in pristine condition and no significant story to tell except encounter with toilet knob or gate... Here’s my two Explorers with 0 exploration under their belt.

Amazing thread. Thank you for sharing your remarkable story.

Question: How do you feel the Tudor North Flag stacks up (in general and alongside an Explorer 2) as an expedition watch? I am interested in a 'do-all' tool watch and would appreciate an opinion from someone with such impressive field experience.

Thank you in advance.
